Default A short quiz on Iraq and the surge...

Is the problem that Patraeus and the president are lying or are they just wrong---and which is worse?

I think it is too soon to tell about the troop surge although the latest report showed that violence in Iraq, as measured by casualties among troops and civilians, has edged higher despite the U.S.-led security push in Baghdad, the Pentagon told Congress on May 19, 2007.

The required quarterly report, which surveyed violence from Feb. 10 to May 7, found that the average number of Iraqi civilians killed or wounded each day was more than 100, nearly double the daily toll from the same period one year ago. The number of daily U.S. casualties was about 25, slightly higher than a year ago.

The average weekly number of attacks across Iraq for the reporting period surpassed 1,000, compared to about 600 weekly attacks for the same period one year ago. More than 75 percent of the attacks were aimed at U.S. forces, according to the report, which also examined political and economic developments in Iraq.

This is what has been reported by numerous papers and I have been unable to find the actual report online to read it.Does anyone have a link to the actual pentagon report itself so we could read it directly? I think General Petreaus has been given a time frame of September 2007 and will then issue a direct report. I think at that point we will have a clearer picture on effectiveness of the troop surge.

I do not think Bush has even addresed it recently so he has not really lied. I think everyone is hoping this last ditch effort will bring about some stability and September seems to be the date they all have given for solid insight into the effects of the surge.

Yep.

Patraeus hopes that Neocons will reward him before they're thrown in prison.

Diane Feinstein and her Corporations have done very well in Iraq.
Oh wait, no one is supposed to speak about Democrat war profiteering.
Does this mean I will be sent to Gitmo for waterboarding lessons?

You'd think just by accident and sheer volume that one of your posts would make some sense. But keep trying Ass Crack, one of these days you'll type something intelligent.
