I'm sorry Frisco, but she has a duty to the people of the US and one of the most important issues facing the people of the US today is the war. If she can clear her schedule to meet with the Syrian government, the VERY LEAST she could do is meet face to face with Patreus. If she doesn't have time for the war, then she needs to resign.

Hey did the blockhead in office listen to ANY of his generals? Congress has no control over the war except finacially and I think it is more than proper to impose deadlines for the Iraqis.

I have a job... I have deadlines... if I don't make those deadlines I get fired.

You cannot compare a war (any war) to an every day job. Regardless of how Bush performs his job, Pelosi has a responsibility, and by not attending the meeting with Patreus, she is not fulfilling her responsibility.

This thread is about Pelosi not fulfulling her responsibilities. Just because someone else is not performing their job properly, does not give anyone else an excuse for not performing theirs properly.

freedom, I must be honest with you, I used that tatic when I was growing up with my sisters. But then you grow up, it looks like others haven't or want to feel sorry for themselves.

In other words you just want to keep things like the way they have been... one problem... elections have consequences. There will be no rubber stamp ANYMORE. We sent the package to the whitehouse... that is what he is going to get so Bush will do what ever Bush is going to do.

There is absolutely nothing wrong with wanting results. That does not negate the fact that Pelosi is irresponsible for not attending a meeting with the top general in the field.

And how do you expect to get results if Pelosi fails to keep the lines of communication open. Then she is as much to blame as Bush.
