Default Bush Says Don't Be Mean to Murtha

Now this is one I didn't get at first, but now I understand.

When John Murtha switched from a hawk on Iraq to saying we should pull out, the GOP was pretty upset because Murtha is a Democrat and quite outspoken (their poster boy for the war).

However, Bush isn't upset. He is even sort of praising Murtha for having the strength to stand up for his convictions. Hello??? Is this the same George W. we all know and love????

Ah ha, here's the rub. The elder George Bush has long been "friends" with Murtha, so that while ...

"Congressman Murtha based his position on principled opposition to the war," a Bush adviser told U.S. News. "Other Democrats are resorting to chicanery."

So, let's see, no other Democrats who are opposed to the war really are, they're just saying that to get votes? This is just getting outrageous. Our political system is becoming a circus, and we've still got years left of this guy??? Anyone hear of the word "impeach"???

It is totally outrageous. I don't see how anyone, even the most die-hard Republican, can condone the things this administration has done. And the really hard thing to take is that they don't seem to give a damn if people find out! George W. and friends really believe they don't have to follow the same rules as anyone else.

Don't know if this country will survive until the next election ... well, let me amend that ... I think it will survive, but the core of it, the thing that made us "Americans" is going to be on life support.

Can't someone come up with some secretary who forgot to destroy some tapes like the Nixon era? Come on people, let's start digging through the White House dumpsters - they have so much confidence in their ability to "fool" the American people, they probably don't even bother to shred stuff.

Good luck getting that impeachment. I think this is just nutty - what are these serious crimes that he's supposed to have committed? Essentially, it boils down to wanting to do things that you don't want him to do - political differences. You can't impeach someone for doing something you think is bad when he thinks it's good - it has to be an actual crime. There's a reason we found stuff on Nixon - because he was actually committing real crimes. Really now, how much of the desire to impeach is just based on the fact that you totally hate Bush? That's not a good reason to do it.

The hate Bush crowd is worried. They know that if he succeeds in Iraq, their hopes and dreams of a socialist utopia will be crushed for at least another decade and he is succeeding. Like I have said before, the radical fruitcakes would rather see the nation fail than see Bush succeed. They are pitiful.

If you believe we are succeeding in Iraq then you must be living in the Bush/Fox fantasy world. Iraqi's will tell you, I have heard them say it, and they are Iraqi's that want democracy to succeed. But know and say there is corruption at all levels in Iraq and many elements are just waiting for the US to exit to make their grab for control. And there will be a civil war and Iraq will become an Islamic state like Iran and more of a danger to us then it ever was. Facing reality is not Bush hating or defeatist. It is a matter of facing reality. Your fool of a president got us into an unnecessary war, of his choice, a choice he made long before 911. He has committed many crimes starting with the lies about the war and ballooning from there. He and Chaney both need to be investigated. Lies about going to war and scarificing the lives of 10's of thousands of people deserves just as much investigation as say a 20 year old real estate deal or a blow job.

I think you are exactly right. Americans that think they are being unpatriotic for standing up for the truth should look at what patriotic Germans did in the Hitler regime.
