"Does anyone else see these similarities or am I just a little more paranoid than the average American?"

>>>Similarities??? Sheeeit - the only difference I see is that one war was fought in the jungle and the other is being fought in a desert. Otherwise, the wars are identical, right down to the bullshit lies used to perp the wars. And the results will be the same.

"WWII started because France, Britain and Russia maintained a policy of appeasement toward Hitler."

>>>Nevermind that Hitler had the best military in the world and Saddam had bupkus. But don't give up the kool-aid, eh?

"Who remembers what happened on September 11, 2001?"

>>>That crap ain't working anymore. Try something new like "can you imagine if Kerry was president."

"The sooner we train the Iraqi's to fight and get ourselves out of there the better..."

>>>It's called "rope-a-dope". That military (such as it is) will be in the Ayatollah's pocket the minute we leave. But it does give Bush an 'out with honor', eh?

Default Not Yet;

We have another 50,000 deaths to go but I'm sure we will get there if this idiot that calls himself a leader stays in office.

I think he is a traitor to the American people and he does not support the claims he backs up. I do have respect for the man only as a president but i do not respect the policies he put up like immigration and the war.

No similarities....

Less deaths, Vietnam was brought to you by a democratic administration, and ended by a republican administration, the viet-cong had a substantial base of operations, Al Qaeda doesn't....

Well, yeah, there is one major similarity; americans have no stomach to see battles through. They want clean, Chuck Norris type Delta Force battles, straight out of the movies....

War is War no matter which way you split it, it creates destruction, dismantles foreign policies, and gives everyone an excuse to kill people even if they have already. Vietnam or Iraq people pick an choose what the past or future gives them and I see no similiarities to this war and I don't like it a bit but I also dislike what iraqis have done over there and the Islamic religion but I can't have my cake and Eat it too so what the hell.
