I don't expect the letter to make you fall to your knees but I at least expect the media to report it. They didn't.
It was in the NY friggen Times, what do you want? Again, perhaps you should take a look at what else was going on that day news-wise. It just didn't measure up.

We are in a war for four years and the enemy shows signs of demoralization and that media doesn't report it? This makes sense to you?

YES! It makes sense. Considering major combat was declared over more than three years ago... YES! Considering it's more or less a one off, anonymous author... YES! it makes sense.

It was on the AP Wire, and in USA Today, and the NY Times. BIG MEDIA! Duly reported! This is not a watershed moment. We all already know that for the most part, we have the upper hand. The thing is, it could have been, should have been over when they said it would be over.

One of the reasons there wasn't much resistance by Congress to going to war (aside from being duped by fake intel) was that we were assured this would be a quick and painless operation. And it could have been.

There are a number of success stories that give me hope and encourage me far more than this one does. It got all the attention it deserved.

At least you admit we are winning. Most people don't even see that. As far as could have been or should have been over when they said.....I think the administration should have done a better job of communicating what was going on. I also think that they should have been more aware of what would happen when Saddam was removed. I would have liked to have scene this story on ABC,NBC and CBS.
