His offences were not against the world but the Iraqis. Hence the reason to be tried in Iraq.

Gassins you own citizens is murder not a war crime. For there to be a war crime there first has to be a war.
Bush had noting to do with Saddams trial
Now which is it is Bush dumber than a bag of rocks (I vote this one) or is he intelligent enough to Plan 9/11, fake intel and pass it to Congress to fight a war in Iraq, and cleverly mastermind Saddams quick execution to hide crimes HE did not even commit.

Who was he going to tell if the execution was not "rushed"? This article makes it sound as though the US hanged him right before a critical meeting that had been scheduled, in which he would reveal critical information regarding US crimes.
