Gix-there are some voted in that do oppose a pull out, but they want a change of course. And I think that if Bush was willing to work with them to come up with a true change of course, they would have his support. Hell, I don't like Bush, but if he would change course, turn the war over to the military, I'd probably kiss his lilly white ass I'd be so happy. As for the Nancy Pelosi and the Charles Rangles, they aren't listening to the American people, or rather they are only listening to the far left, which DOES NOT represent the whole of the Democratic party. Do you truly believe, deep in your heart, that OUR President is listening to the American people? On any issue, take your pick. They are sitting in Washington doing their own thing, and it is time for us to say "ENOUGH IS ENOUGH".

Change of course.... what do you want to change to...... When the president was sayng STAY THE COURSE it ment keep on fighting.... keep on evolving.....attain victory.....

The problem is that the PRES has failed to communicate this..... that is one of his biggest shortcomings.........

And the military has been fighting this war.... They have been evolving on the gorund.... they have been strategizing and counter strategizing etc.... Yes the buck stops at the Presidnet because he is the commander in cheif.... But you have stop the buck for both good and bad..... you know what i mean...

And yes The president may not be listing to the people.... But which president does.... as a matter of fact you tell me any politician that listins to the people......

I beleive he is doing what needs to be done to preserve our way of life........ it is easy to ridicule him and chastise him..... but you cant take away the fact that he had a problem fall on his desk and he took it by the horns and has really tried to solve a problem in a manner that has been different then the not so succesfull policy's of the past.........

Maybee his way is wrong.....who knows......that is for the history books to decide...... But it's encouraging to see a leader stand up and say we are not going to let terrorism/islamic extremism pursue there agenda freely...... And we are not afraid to ruffle there feathers like they ruffle ours....

In my book that is the true definition of character.....

Well gix, I would agree with you more if we had stayed in Afghanistan and captured Osama Bin Laden, FIRST. I would agree with you more, if more had been done to secure our borders and our ports. Securing our borders and ports is the single most important way to secure America from future attacks.

You have to destroy the country before you can save it.
That is the way to gain the support of the people.It worked in the south,afterall!How many years did southerners hate the yankees?
Because we went to war without really knowing or caring about the reality of the history and politics of the country and region we allowed the situation to get out of hand.
The solution now is be like Ancient Rome and Make Iraq our Carthage.Eliminate every one in the country that is not American and eliminate all evidence that Iraq ever existed.We can then claim the land(manifest Destiny)and our oil companies can extract the oil.

i would agree with you on this aswell..... But do you really thinh that is enough....

Lets go back to the Diner..... in your infinate wisdem as the savvy business owner you hatch a plan to limit all compition in your town.... Thus protecting your CORPORATION and your profit.... With the help of the Mayer and the village board who love your place by the way agree and create an ordinance....

Now you start to get that warm fuzzy fealings you have closed the town off noone can threaten your PROFIT and all is good....

But in reality are you really protected.... While you are busy protecting you territory... TGI FRIDAY has EXPANDED TO EVERY CORNER OF the country and now finally there are coming back at you...... They set up shop in all the neiboring towns and slowly but shurly start churning some of your profits...
Eventually you cant compete.... The diner needs to be refurbished the booths are ripped the Roof is leaking and you cant keep up with the BILLS.... There goes your PROFIT..... it was nice when you had it but now it's gone.

I am grasping your meaning. I am not an isolationist. I think that we must deal with the world economically, and sometimes we have to but our noses in to help other countries out. But by securing our borders, at least we know who and what is coming over those borders. We will never again be 100% safe, but there is more that we could do. By the way, I believe in healthy competition. I wouldn't want to see a saturated market, but I don't like to see a competing restaurant go out of business. It usually means people are not eating out as much, or not supporting their local businesses.
