Not our job, it is thiers to put these people down.
read the article. The main sticking point is that the iraqi troops will be doing the fighting with american troops backing them up.......

Along with the known notion to the Iraqi gov that they will have to step up, something they have not heard until now.

Actually, that is not completely true. Just heard a report on WNOX in Knoxville that the roads around the Syrian border are being patrolled by Iraqi troops with American backing and have been for some time now.

One must NEVER believe 90% of the media

Sorry Nathan I'm a free thinker and don't use the media as a teacher. I was making a point that the Iraqi gov have had the security blanket of a long term presence of American forces. The President finally made it clear to them as well as us that they would have to step up or lose our support. I feel that that is key in getting them in gear all across the boards and not just some areas.

We will see?

I'm willing to give this new surge and agreement with Maliki six months. If there are not noticeable improvements by then, then we should begin pulling out. We can't keep wasting resources, capital, and human lives in this manner.

Storm
You know my position on Iraq but I agree that we can't fiddle fart around forever. If Maliki doesn't do the job we should commit an all out effort and turn Iraq into a colony of the United States. I know that is an extreme idea but I honestly believe losing Iraq is simply not an option that we can ever entertain
