I think there comes a point where strong-willed, stay the course mentality should no longer be applied...and we are fast approaching that point, if not already there. Without sealing the area off from incoming insurgents, we are fighting a perpetual war. As for whether we should send in more troops, I don't know enough about the stradegy intended to implement those additional troops.

I think US GIs driving patrols through Baghdad and Karballa is about as DUMB as anything I've heard. 30,000 GIs is just going to provide more targets.
