Hey Mr. Micheal SavageWannaBe... How we conduct ourselves is not based on a sliding scale. We either have morals and values or we don't. I will not sacrifice my principles simply because my enemy has none.

GET IT?!

And I have a free voice here, mr. Illiberal. How come I hear about these torture cases more than I do about beheadings of US Citizens in the media? How do you know that if you were placed in a foreign land, and your best buddy was just guerilla attacked, that you might stoop down to Holiday Inn service for the prisoners. Torture my ass.

What's an "Illiberal"? Don't try to define me... you will only show more of your profound ignorance. Those that know me here know that I'm not a fan of either side (left/right, Lib/Con). They both SUCK!!. I am for what is morally right and judiciously just. PERIOD.

Also, most folks here have learned not to use "over-the-top" rhetoric such as "Holiday Inn" service to describe a US detention center.

Furthermore... I did not say a thing about your right to speak. Your free voice was never in question. I am a voracious defender of everyone here to speak their mind. NEVER have I told anyone on these boards to go away, shut up, or otherwise silence themselves. And if you had bothered to do some background reading on these threads, you would have seen that we have already gone several rounds on sentiment you raised. But since you missed it, here is the gist of it...

We are a nation of LAWS, MORALS and VALUES as set forth in the U.S. Constitution, the Bill of Rights, and the U.S. Code, among sacred American documents.

Simply put, if you can't use a particular measure of force on a detainee/suspect/inmate here in the U.S. to stop the rampant gang violence here, then it should not be allowed anywhere we operate. Holding to these principles gives us the moral high ground, which in my opinion is far more important than the pitifully small amount of accurate intel we've gathered from the amoral tactics you so blithely defend.

As Leaders of the Free World, we have an obligation to those that looked to us for strength and inspiration, as the first free society in the history of the world to conduct ourselves with the highest moral character.

GET IT NOW?

Surely you know what this is all about...the publicity of such happenings (or mishappenings). Its just a form for the media to take shots at our troops. If this kind of thing is talked about the way it was, the general idiot public gets the idea of "Hey, our troops are all bad, I keep hearing about all this torturing, etc"...and most Americans have a predisposed notion of what torture is from past wars. This is why the word torture is also misleading to Americans....I think "mistreatment" better describes whats been going on. So this dominates, while not a mention of the terrorists beheading our cictizens. A little biased maybe? Maybe some false opinions being formed because of it? The TV is a dangerous thing in our time.

Look, if these guys over there did "torture" or whatever, let it be taken care of, please. Im sure not every soldier is a saint over there...and if they misbehave, ACTIONS SHOULD BE TAKEN. But I hope you realize what the domination of this topic in the media does to demoralize other respectful troops there, and it forms a false national sentiment that "torture" (by our old definition) is rampant!!!!!!!!!!!!

We are trying to win a war and our liberal media is giving the enemy the justification they need to fight. That is a form of treason, and if we still had a backbone, they would all be deported. Sorry Im just an American...whos also pro-American. Imagine that.

I had trouble pulling up your sites Savage but I can imagine how terrible they are. I think torture on either side is immoral, wrong and should not be tolerated. One point is we hols ouurselves to be the moral, great liberators...the perfect democracy and then allow Abu Ghraib which I think endangered our troops...Those people got off with nothing but a hand slap.

I agree that tor ture is wrong and i think there is better ways of getting the intel we need out but i think all to r ture should be stopped, it's simply inhumane for anyone to go through long hours of pain and suffering until you die. should never be an answer in the war even if the enemy is doing it and that justifies why we are here in iraq, to stop the torturing of people who do use car b o m b s and any other lethal force to kill their own off including americans or any other anti - communist country. I think t err or ists are the scum of the earth and americans shouldn't stoop to their level. Thank you for your time.
