Default 6 Iraqi policemen slain, dozens missing

Quote:
Dozens of policemen were missing Friday and at least six were dead after insurgents ambushed a police convoy near a U.S. base, officials said. A series of bombings killed at least five people in three Iraqi cities.

Insurgents set off roadside bombs and then opened fire Thursday night on a large police convoy near the U.S. base of Taji, just north of Baghdad. The policemen from the Shiite shrine city of Najaf, south of Baghdad, were returning home after picking up new vehicles at the base, police said.

A senior official in the Najaf governor's office said only 35 of the 80 policemen had returned by Friday to the city.

The attackers shouted "God is great!" and "Long live jihad!" as they swarmed about the burning vehicles firing at the police, survivors told authorities. Most of the vehicles were destroyed.

As much as I think the Bush administration has done wrong here I hope they will eventually see how futile it is to keep killing innocent civilians. I think we could accelerate that if we would start removing our troops, however.

As a current USMC on medical leave recuperating from injuries sustain in the battle of Fallujah. Cut the BUSH bashing. It's transparent and shows you ignorance. NO, I am not a Bush fan but I rather fight over there than here.

Where was your outrage of the Saddam regime? Hitler, Stalin, Talibans, Ayatollahs. Yes, Iran may have or soon get nukes. Remember, is this day and age they still stone people to death, hang women on cranes for adultery, run over children's arm with a car for stealing.

And you still hate bush.

Prior to my combat. I was involved in digging up a football size field outside Baghdad of the corpse of 300,000 Men, Women, and children. Where was your "educated" outrage then? Let me guess it is BUsh's fault because he is a Republican....dumb ass. Grab a shovel and help out. Before long your ignorance may be digging the graves in our land. USA not perfect but I will agree I relunctaly save your sorry ass over there than here.

Semper Fidelis.

Bush is sure cozy with Saudia arabia who has the same policies as Iraq. WE do have outrage about the Taliban(I support the mission there ) and if you are who you say you are admire and respect you. However,That does not mean mis representing intelligence to invade a country is right. Read the posts on iraq and you will see why so many people feel so strpong. that is not a reflection on our troops but a demand that our chief be honest and use our military for protection of america not lying to have a war for personal gain.

Hey i am sorry for your injuries but we are not in iraq for human rights and you know it. Saddam and maybe 30 other countries have or have had horrible human rights. Some of those we are cozy with if it benefits us(China,S.A)....Iraq we suddenly opposed(could it be the oil) ...and i am sick to death of the argument by some that say ...well they were not connected with 9/11 and they do not have WMD but we can lure terrorist there and fight there. So what kind of human rights does that stand for? All the reasons we went in are lies and you say its okay and good policy to take a country that has been abused by Sadddam and use there land to lure in al quaida and use it for our war ground(yes I guess that is better for selfish us) but do not pretend its about human rights because using their country to have our fight with terrorist cells is as bad. We may draw some terrorist there and then maybe families of the 300,000 civilians we have "accidently" killed probably the join in resistance only creating more jihadist. Convince yourself any fiction you want and i admire your bravery and am sorry for your injuries but it is not about defending our freedom, human rights for iraqis or revenging 9/11 and 62% of Americans know it and more are seeing it. You are another example of a Bush decision that hurt you and helped nothing.
