With all due respect to your service to our country (and there isn't a person here that wouldn't thank you for it in person if they could, well... maybe one), you guys were sent over there to do a job and I know that the vast majority of our troops are doing the best job they can with what they have to deal with. There is a lot of honor in doing the things you have been tasked to do there. Nothing said about the president and his administration reflects on our soldiers in any way shape or form. You guys are doing a fine job fulfilling your duty as soldiers.
It's my duty as a patriotic citizen of the USA to do my duty to stand up and ask the tough questions and demand answers when I think things are wrong or not going well. That is my right. All of us. There is no ignorance in doing this, just a different perspective with some substantial supporting evidence.
Where was your outrage of the Saddam regime? Hitler, Stalin, Talibans, Ayatollahs. Yes, Iran may have or soon get nukes. Remember, is this day and age they still stone people to death, hang women on cranes for adultery, run over children's arm with a car for stealing.
Hitler? Stalin?.... Ummm, wasn't born yet and neither were you. Eli?.... you wanna take this one?
There were mountains of outrage for each of these events. You may not remember it, (but then your playstation doesn't deliver information does it)? Just as there is now for Darfur and dozens of other human rights hot spots. There is always outrage, it's just very difficult to get governments to do anything about it. The loudest outrage usually comes from the left that you on the right labeling as whiny and touchy feely while insisting that we aren't the world police. Sorry man, but you gotta choose, cake or ice cream? You youngin's seem to think that nothing happened unless you heard about it. Get used to realizing the opposite for a few more years.
And you still hate bush.
And their conduct (Hitler, Taliban, etc.) relates to how we use OUR morals and values to asses our president.... how? I am fundamentally opposed to the Bush administration for their own incompetence. But if that's your point, then ahhh I guess.... ummmm sure Bush is a great guy because he hasn't killed 25 million of his own countrymen... YEAH!!!! Whata guy!!! He also gets an award for not attempting genocide against an ethnic segment of the population!!! YIPEEEEE!!! Ohhh and he hasn't instituted religious/marshal law (yet) and doesn't stone women, children or little puppies... WOW! How has this guy NOT gotten the Nobel Peace Prize Yet?
Prior to my combat. I was involved in digging up a football size field outside Baghdad of the corpse of 300,000 Men, Women, and children. Where was your "educated" outrage then? Let me guess it is Bush's fault because he is a Republican....dumb ass. Grab a shovel and help out. Before long your ignorance may be digging the graves in our land. USA not perfect but I will agree I relunctaly save your sorry ass over there than here.
There was plenty of outrage when that happened too. But if we had no way of knowing 9-11 was coming, what makes you think we could have stopped him from gassing his own people with the weapons we sold him? One big result of that outrage was the fact that Clinton signed policy calling for regime change in Iraq.
as far as "Saving our sorry asses"...? I respect your belief in your mission and the reasons for it, I request that you respect our equally strong belief that we're trying save our troops butts from getting shot off. We, as patriotic citizens against the war in Iraq and for a change of policy in D C., for the purposes of being in a high state of readiness for anything truly nasty in the near future, have convictions and reasoning every bit as strong as yours.
Semper Fidelis.

I would start a new thread, but ...
did anyone see the memos that Zarqawi sent that said he is going to focus deliberately on killing fellow Muslims?
Yeah, the religion of peace. As long as you follow the specific prescription of the Iranian Shias, or the Saudi Wahhabists.

I don't think we will ever know the "whole truth" as to why we are in Iraq, I have my own plausible theories, however I am so happy that we don't have war on American soil, so thanks KaosRex

I like the idea of fighting them there so that we don't have to fight them here too.
The congressional resolution authorizing the war clearly laid out the reasons.
