Default Straw and Rice pressure Jaafari to step aside

It was a bit overlooked, probably because Cynthia McKinney was busy playing a vile race card, but in a fairly stunning move the Foriegn Secretary Jack Straw and SecState Condoleeza Rice flew into Baghdad to urge the Iraqis to poop or get off the twig.

Jaafari is not acceptable to the Kurds, Secularists, and most Sunnis. Even though the Shia based Dawa party has the majority they do not have enough votes to form a coalition free government.

Sunni Arab politicians reaffirmed their opposition to Prime Minister Ibrahim al-Jaafari on Monday, urging Shiite politicians to come up with new names for the top Iraqi post to end the deadlock over formation of a new government.
Is this a brilliant move by the Brits and the US? Or is it more senseless interference that won't matter to the Iraqis or the critics of the US and Britain?
