This is on this week, tonight here locally

The Lost Year in Iraq
coming Oct. 17, 2006 at 9pm (check local listings)

(60 minutes) In the aftermath of the fall of Saddam Hussein, a group of Americans led by Ambassador L. Paul Bremer III set off to Baghdad to build a new nation and establish democracy in the Arab Middle East. One year later, with Bremer forced to secretly exit what some have called "the most dangerous place on earth," the group left behind lawlessness, insurgency, economic collapse, death, destruction--and much of their idealism. Three years later, as the U.S. continues to look for an exit strategy, the government the Americans helped create and the infrastructure they designed are being tested. FRONTLINE Producer Michael Kirk follows the early efforts and ideals of this group as they tried to seize control and disband the Iraqi police, army and Baathist government--and how they became hardened along the way to the realities of postwar Iraq.

Watched this.

OK...the finger again points to Mr. Rumsfeld...the guy who wanted to be president. Too many bad decisions from the start and actually Rumsfeld and Cheney and the inside guys wanted to 'cut and run' if you really want to talk about it, they wanted to leave Iraq as fast as possible. Again, there was no plan to deal with the actual realities of what was going on.

I see it was brought to Americans by none other than that fine upstanding totally reliable source of information; PBS, otherwise known as Propaganda By Soros.

So sorry I missed it.

That show was not meant to be watched by let's say 30% of the adult population in America; Ya know the robotic non-thinking conservatives which include you NAZI-KIX.

how many ways can you show a failure,a mistake, a mess up?.....and how many ways can you make an excuse for it?
the smug mr. rumsfeld should be held to account. he is an outright failure, nothing he has done or said has been a benifit to america or iraq for that matter.
the ego......as if the war were about mr. rumsfeld and mr. cheney. to position themselves to win the argument even if it meant losing the war.they wanted to show these liberals and even old school republicans how they were wrong..... ok show me....death...ok show me.....lies....ok show me your ideology bleeding out all over the ground. excuse after failure, excuse after failure.........
they should take the place of a soldier who will fall today in the playground of neoconservative ideology. it would be nice to see em put their ass where their giant mouths are.

Kix, PBS is funded a great deal by pledges and you know that...

The next time you get the flu, maybe you can blame it on George Soros for funding some sort of flu pandemic...

The facts are that a great deal of interview happened on the show with the Ambassador (Bremmer) the Bush administration (Rumsfeld/Cheney) put in place; Paul Bremer did agree to be interviewed with PBS along with others who are traditionally on the conservative side and worked for the Bush administration as well as past Republican administrations. This is no 'hatchet job' when it is presented that way. Though it looked clear (as before) that Bremmer was not qualified to do an Iraqi Ambassador's job for what needed to be done, the onus sits squarely on Cheney and Rumsfeld who were ready to hand Iraq back to the Iraqis a soon as they possibly could (makes you think about the 'cut and run' thing folks, and who accuses who of that). Bremmer made a good case for himself by being interviewed and all the show did was put the original problems (which still exist today) back in the laps of the administration insiders who opposed what Bremmer was doing. Bremmer was at least right there on the ground seeing what was going on up until sovereignty was handed back. These are basic principles of power and control that are involved here and no plan was in place to take care of Iraq after the initial ousting of Saddam, not even to deal with their sovereignty; that was the arrogance and callousness shown by Rumsfeld and Cheney who had zero idea what REALLY would happen after Saddam (they really did not give a rats ass). These were grave errors (there is awhole series of errors from that first year) that are resulting in many more American casualties than should be obsorbed by the US military. All this show did was to outline the truth more, which was already there and can easily be cross checked from past information. Bremmer tried to do what he could based on what he knew but if Rumsfeld wanted XYZ in the first place then Bremmer was a front man for a failed policy that we are paying for right now.

Sort of hits you that Bremmer mirrors the person who was in charge of FEMA during Hurricane Katrina; big lack of experience and way too far in over their heads.
