You are a silly, silly man Dom. People are held to promises, not predictions. If you are asking me if I stand by them? Until the situation shifts from the PNAC plan, yes. But I don't see that happening yet.
A friend of mine from Algeria contacted me a few days ago. Hadn't heard from him in a while, asking me if I new about any new bases in the area. According to him, not far from where he lives in the south, the US have established a new military base that both the US and Algerian gov'ts are denying exists. Kind of hard to miss the supply convoys he said. Apparently they are there to protect the northern African oil feilds. While there is some AQ activity there, it's not enough to call for a permanent base fo this size. And what is the point of the secrecy? the Algerians now it's there, AQ knows its there, but the American people don't.
I see more and larger wars on the horizon. Wars that will necessitate the need to protect oil supplies as we did in WWI and II. Only this time, there won't be a rush to the area after the war begins, we are already there.
If McCain is elected, the PNAC plan will continue. Not with the audacious fervor that Bush pursued it with, but all the same. If Obama is elected, Israel will act as the PNAC proxy and initiate actions we will feel obligated to get involved with.
So yeah, you "hold me to these predictions" with one caveat. I hope to hell I'm wrong. But I prefer not to be surprised on this level. I'd rather the happy surprise than a catastrophic one.
