There have been nearly 12,000 terrorist attacks carried out by Muslims all over the globe since 9/11. This activity is not relegated to just Iraq and Afghanistan or just aimed at US troops or US interests.

How many muslims are in the world today? 1.6 billion roughly? Lets say 10 percent of muslims are extremists hell bent on destroying the western world, thats a pretty modest percentage. Thats 160 MILLION people. Say 10 percent of that are the ones who will act on those psychotic impulses.

Thats 16 MILLION people, twice the population of New York City. All it took was 19 of them to bring the US virtually to its knees. They arent recruiting at all, they already have the gullible and insane 16 million insurgents and suicide bombers they need.

You're right, it's more like 750 million fundamentalist Muslims are trying to follow Allah's orders and Muhammad's example and as fundamentalists, they are all potential jihadists. The rest are Muslims(mostly westernized) that are either clueless as to what the Quran actually teaches or they are more loyal to the moral law written in their hearts than they are to the details of Muhammad’s religion, whether they know it or not. That said, out of that pool of 750 million potential jihadists only a fraction will actually become an active jihadist. I'd say the actual number of active jihadists in the world is closer to 2 million.
