Default New Book on Iraq War

Second Chance Publishing is pleased to announce the upcoming release of The Iraq War Blog, An Iraqi Family's Inside View of the First Year of the Occupation, by Faiza Al-Araji, Raed Jarrar, and Khalid Jarrar, on June 30th, 2008.

With the war entering its sixth year and the anniversary of the fall of Baghdad just behind us, I believe that this would be a very timely publication.

Raed Jarrar is an Iraqi political analyst currently based in Washington, D.C., and has appeared on CNN, CNN Int'l, Al-Jazeera, Al-Alma, BBC, and Democracy Now! His expert analyses have also appeared on member stations of NPR, BBC, CBC, Fox, CBS, and Pacifica. He is also a contributing writer and analyst for AlterNet and Foreign Policy in Focus.

The book has received favorable reviews from Cindy Sheehan, Amy and David Goodman, and Steve Connors and Molly Bingham (Directors of the Documentary, Meeting Resistance).

Regards,
Michael G. DeFilippo

Sounds like it could be good. There was an Iraqi woman who posted on the web for the first years of the war..... Riverbend....she was so interesting to read. Told of the life in Baghdad during the war. Last post was in the fall last year when they fled to Syria.

I just looked and the blog is still up.... Baghdad Burning

If you’re really tough, you’re not always looking to try to start a fight. If you’re really tough, sometimes you just walk away. If you’re really tough, you just save it for when you really need it,” Obama said.
