They won their objective....to remove Saddam Hussein. Then came bringing democracy to Iraq. It was only much later that an objective became making sure that the Iraqis have a perfectly working democracy and are 100% secure before we let go of their hands.

Ah, you might need to check some facts. The stated reason given to the American public and to Congress by President Bush was to remove the threat of clear and present weapons of mass destruction possessed by Saddam Hussein. You might feel comfortable accepting this changed version, especially if you are a compliant jellyfish who likes taking orders from corrupt authorities. However, if you follow our Constitution you'll find that it isn't too easy to accept a corrupt government that operates by a different standard than what it holds the public to. That's tyranny if you didn't notice. If I did what Bush did I would be put in jail for a long time. Since the Constitution requires the government to follow the same law as the people what you are doing there is justifying the violation of the Constitution - the very thing our country is based on and even kills people overseas in the name of. It's amazing how incredibly stupid Americans are and how they don'y have any clue what their own country is about. So it is actually you who is the threat here.
The soldier has firm grounds and the Constitution Bush is in contempt of is on his side. The rest of you are cowards. It takes a brave man to stand up to a corrupt government.

LOL--- Only a liberal can talk out of both sides of his ass/mouth (interchangable) by saying Bush is in contempt of the same thing that he is protected by! Next time don't make your argument self defeating...............
It's fine to argue against President Bush as does 70% of the populace (depending on most recent polls) but do not make yourself look ignorant by saying he has a right/power and then denounce that right/power in the same text.
hate the war, hate Bush, hate all military I do not care........... But be appreciative to the fact that without having help spread freedom through the world you would not have the right to speak a damn thing without being under the thumb of a government or dictator that might order your execution for disliking the status quo.

As far as the military being a "social program," they promote it that way. I never see an Army commercial that says, "Go Army. Possibly get Killed!"

It is not up to the individual to decide what to believe in when it comes to the military. You join knowing there are going to be things you don't like or agree with but you follow orders, period. That is the way every military has ever worked down through history.
I am sure not every soldier agreed with WWII but they served and did their duty, period. That is the way the military works. You don't volunteer then decide you don't like the games so you don't participate. You serve your time then you get out.
As for orders, trust me, not even generals like all orders that a President gives but they follow them anyway because that is the way it works...the only way it can work. I don't care who the man in the Oval Office is, Bush 1, Clinton, Bush 2. They all still followed orders, liked them or not.

Ti deosnt amtter what the civlain preceptions of military duty is.
The poin here is that they are people and should be treated as such. They can think on there own and are encourged to in the US military. You rednecks arent. But that doesnt make it true in the Military.

Based of violation of UN mandates and resolutions, when do we invade Israel ?
The argument is disingenuous, and makes no sense

The UN is scared of Israel.

I'll admit it takes mucho guts to do what he is doing. After all those tours, in peaceful and war zones, maybe he's snapped a little. He talk about the "fragile psyches" of those returning form Iraq os no joke and not isolated cases.
Still, ricie, is correct that he should be prepared to accept the consequences.
Or he can finish his hitch, get out and get the help he apparently needs.
Thank you Mr. President! You too, Sen. McCain.
