Yes, how a country treats it's vets does play a part in how the general population percieves their country of origin.....our's has been going downhill ever since the conclusion of WWII/Korea.

Contractors have no "oversight" stateside or overseas.
Thats the Military's and federal goverment's fault.

Well what can you expect from a government that pays $300.00 for a hammer?
I want to also be in the hammer manufacturing biz as long as I can get me some big, fat government contracts.

I recent read that we, the tax payers, are paying for the representitives leases on car. One topped out at $1k a month, including gas, insurance, repairs.

I saw something on that. Hell, we all pay for our own cars to get to work,I say give them a discount on parking and the rest they can pay themselves.

In college I had an internship at the state Capitol. I had to pay and take the bus because parking was horrendously expensive. I bought my own lunch. I did a 6 month internship 5 days a week, I saw the Senator 1x.

Yup, they are surely the 'people's' representatives, aren't they? Particularly Senators, who think they are above the rabble.
