That might be true OB, but I definitely see substantial efforts to try to be safer, even if it's an illusion. Here in Wa. St. our ferry systems have been in a heightened level of security for some time, K9 units sniffing every vehicle before they board (during commuting hours anyway). The airport metal detectors are so sensitve that gum in foil packages set them off. The things going on covertly by our Gov. to try and head off potential attacks seems to be working to some degree, I've heard of a couple of foiled plans by those who wish us harm.

It's not a perfect science, but....
