Default Poll: Iraq war not worth it

I guess the American people aren't so stupid after all, if this poll by CNN is any indication. It's been 5 years since the invasion and this how the public views it:

71 percent said they think U.S. spending in Iraq is a reason for the nation's poor economy.

66 percent said they oppose the war and it was not worth it.

61 percent of those polled said the next president should remove most U.S. troops from Iraq "within a few months of taking office."

One of the biggest foreign policy blunders in USA history? I don't think there is much question about that. BTW, a White House spokesman said the war had cost the U.S. $406.2 billion through December 2007.

I know that there are people who now point to the cost of the war as the reason to quit. We can follow that logic and not put anymore money into cancer research because it simply costs too much and there are people who die despite our best efforts.

I know that there are people who think the war was just wrong. Saddam was there but Al Quaeda wasn't. We can follow that logic and when the felon tells you his friend is a good guy we can leave out wallets on the edge of the table.

This is hard, war is hard no one likes it not even the military. They just happen to know and accept that it is a necessary evil. If you can honestly believe that Saddam & AlQuaeda would not have buddied up had we not stepped in, if they hadn't done it already I think you're terribly naive. War does make strange bed fellows, even there.

Eating out once a week as opposed to twice a week isn't the definition of sacrifice to me. If we don;t quit fighting with ourselves the enemy won't have to do anything. Please don't use the politics of fear phrase, it's really over rated.

Lesseeeee Now! 3,000 people lost their lives on 9/11, but we're losing 80,000 to 100,000 EVERY YEAR to MEDICAL MISTAKES, so what does the AWOL resident do? Why, he attacks a country that had absolutely no involvement in the attacks of 9/11, kills in excess of 1,000,000 innocent civillians in that country, loses over 4,000 American soldiers in the process, and still has no program to address the problem of preventable deaths due to medical mistakes.
