Yes, I studied WWII. Was it worth it? Depends who you ask. Yes, my Great Uncle was a pilot and shot and killed during WWII.

I no way minimalize WWII or any war. I have been fortunate enough to tour Pearl Harbor, Arlington Cemetary and all the walls, and Germany. Believe me, I understand loss.

But, I have also had to cross Warriors Walk with young widows.

Thumbs down

I'm sure it was worth it to the Bankers, Military-industrialists and all the others that profit from war....

Since the end of the Vietnam War, presidents have worried that their military actions would lose support once the public glimpsed the remains of U.S. soldiers arriving at air bases in flag-draped caskets.

To this problem, the Bush administration has found a simple solution: It has ended the public dissemination of such images by banning news coverage and photography of dead soldiers' homecomings on all military bases.
In March, on the eve of the Iraq war, a directive arrived from the Pentagon at U.S. military bases. "There will be no arrival ceremonies for, or media coverage of, deceased military personnel returning to or departing from Ramstein airbase or Dover airbase, to include interim stops," the Defense Department said, referring to the major ports for the returning remains.

A Pentagon spokeswoman said the military-wide policy actually dates from about November 2000 -- the last days of the Clinton administration -- but it apparently went unheeded and unenforced, as images of caskets returning from the Afghanistan war appeared on television broadcasts and in newspapers until 2003.

Though Dover Air Force Base, which has the military's largest mortuary, has had restrictions for 12 years, others "may not have been familiar with the policy," the spokeswoman said. This year, "we've really tried to enforce it."

Who realy knows there motives but you don't give any weight to the fact they want to keep out you fucks that do nothing but take your hate of the adminastration on the dead soldiers and there families. They go to funerals of these men and women and I'm sure you see the signs the families don't need that shit nor DO THEY HAVE THE RIGHT TO DO THAT SHIT TO THE FAMILY!

migueld wasn't spouting-off about ridiculous chemicals, and you have no idea what his concerns are.

Why don't you just STFU, since you have nothing to add to his arguments but your ignorance.

A. Crowley wrote, "Why don't you just STFU..."

This is more of the same old, tired-ass liberal horseshit. "You disagree with me, so you should shut up." The problem is that you people haven't the slightest idea what you're talking about, so you go to great lengths to conjure up conspiracies and try to revise history to support your anti-Americanism.

If this country is so horrible, you always have the option of leaving and going where you'd fit in better...say,...France? This country would certainly be better off without you idiotic subversives.

What we are doing in Iraq is right and justified. Just ask the millions of Iraqis who now live in more freedom than they have ever known in their entire lives. You're wrong on this issue and you know it. Deep down inside, in places in your twisted minds you don't want to admit exist, you know you're wrong. So, you project your self-hatred and anger on to a President who has kept this nation safe for 7 years and his supporters.

How about trying to actually support your own nation for once and stop with all the conspiracy-theory, America-hating, nonsense?
