Ok first of all Im gonna do my best not to get fired up in your response, cause now Im fucking pissed.
Let me tell you a little about myself before you continue to insult me.
My name is Specialist Jared John Hansen, Im assigned to Alpha company, 2-16 infantry, 4th brigade, 1st infantry division, currently stationed on FOB Rustamiyah in eastern Baghdad.
I joined the Army on September 29th 2004, and upon completion of the ITB at Fort Benning I was assigned to Bravo company, 2-1 infantry, 172nd Stryker brigade combat team. I deployed to Iraq in August of 2005, on an originally planned, 12 month tour in the anbar province and in mosul. Ive been shot at and blown up more times then I can remember. 4 days away from our scheduled flight home, we were extended and sent to baghdad for an additional 4 months.
When I finally got back, I came down on orders for 3rd brigade 1st armmored in fort riley kansas and PCSed in april of 07.
Last august 4th brigade asked for volunteers to go to iraq, and i went. Im still here today.
ive experienced virtually everything there is to experience here. ive hit IEDs EFPs, VBIEDs, SVBIEDs, ive nearly had my head removed from my shoulders from 1) a flying engine block 2)a sniper 3) shrapnel that missed me by 2 inches.
ive been in firefights that lasted between 20 seconds and 3 hours, ive seen civilians die, ive seen the enemy die, and ive seen friends die. so dont fucking lecture me about war, i know more about it then you ever could.
SPC Joshua Pearce was one of my closest friends last time i was here, look him up, he was killed feb 26th 2006 by an IED. i watched from a rooftop 50 meters away as they pulled what was left of him out of the drivers hole, and watched them pick the rest of him up with a fucking sponge.
unamerican? ive done 2 tours in iraq, both of which i volunteered for. what the fuck have you done?!?

Been a little more sensitive than you to the fact our soldiers are getting blowed to buts apparently. Who are you God? To call bullshit when somebody tells you friends of their have come home from Iraq with problems of injuries.
Whats up stryker if your in Iraq for as long as you claim, are you going to try to tell us you have never seen a soldier killed or maimed?
If that is the case you must be a desk jockey, and from what you said your not.
You don't know sudzman and you don't know his friends. Dishonoring their service is bullshit of your stryker.
How would you feel if one of your buddies was injured and you spoke about it on the net and somebody said bullshit were they shot in chow line?
Why are you to judge? Who made you God?

That said let me thank you for your service and say come home safe. Bring some of your buddies home safe.
I apologize for over reacting to your comment in particular. You didn't say that much. In my defense I am tired of people acting like soldiers are not dying in this country. As far as I am concerned the picture walls should still be up everywhere around this country. When a soldier dies it should be a big deal, as it should when they are injured.
I am ashamed that as a country we care so little when a soldier dies that its just announced on the nightly news as 3 soldiers died in Iraq today.?????????????? What?????????????? Who were they? They were soldiers and humans. They left loved ones behind. Let the country at least acknowledge their names and home towns. Let the country honor them. They are not just number. 3 dead, 6 dead, 26,000 injured. They are soldiers, the best America has and they deserve more than being a number on the nightly news.
I apologize stryker for taking your comments the wrong way. I am tired of hearing people acting like it's not big deal when a soldier died. I hear all the time the following. " They signed up they knew they could die , so don't bother me with it" seems to be many peoples stance on this war. That is what I thought you were getting at with the "chowline remark" A disrespect of the soldiers. It is a big deal when soldiers die in a war the country sent them into and it always should be a big deal.
Just because the war has went on a few years doesn't mean they become numbers on the nightly news.
If a soldier dies he deserves to be more than just a number.
Again stryker thank you for your service and stay safe.
Make no mistake, some of us in the US pay attention whenever a soldier is killed or injured. Its our duty. To honor their sacrifice.

This is a web site that does give names and home towns of our fallen soldiers. They have a lot of links to home town stories about the brave soldiers who have died.
I don't know if the VFW locally is still doing it but the ladies there were using this site to try to send cards of sympathy to local VFW's around the nation whenever a soldier from a town or city died.
They do a fair job of updating the info as new comes in about soldiers who have died in this war.
You can always send your sympathies to the local paper in that soldiers home town, most papers will see the family gets them.

Hometown: Pittsford, New York, U.S.
Age: 22 years old
Died: February 25, 2008 in Operation Iraqi Freedom.
Unit: Army, 2nd Battalion, 3rd Infantry Regiment, 3rd Stryker Brigade Combat Team, 2nd Infantry Division, Fort Lewis Wash.
Incident: Died Feb. 25 at the National Naval Medical Center, Bethesda, Md., of wounds suffered in Baghdad, on Aug. 2, 2007, when the vehicle he was in encountered an a makeshift bomb.
For instance this soldier is listed as having fought to live a long time after his injury. That means his family has been through a lot. Making loosing him after such a long fight to live, that much harder emotionally on them.

I went back and looked ocean breeze. I didn't have a clue what your talking about. I posted pictures of soldiers who have survived. Their injuries and there are thousands of these pictures available on public domain charity web sites for these brave injured soldiers. They are alive ocean breeze , not dead.
What is bothering you about this ocean breeze?
Seeing the pictures of a few military flag draped caskets?
or are just like the rest of the cowards in this country and prefer not to talk about the death that comes with war?
Well, I am pro life too. When people die, or are injured, especially in service to their country it should be acknowledged .
That is how I feel about it.
