The simple fact is in 2000 the US faced an impending oil crisis and needed to flood another million to 2 million barrels a day on the markets or risk major Global Recession...not immediately but soon.
Along comes the Bush Administration and concocted the most devilish idea.
Steal France's oil.
How?
Well France owned Iraq's Oil, 27% bought and paid for...another $60 Billion USD on the table in Iraq's pockets to buy another remainder of Iraqi oil with later transactions to be concluded.
But how do you take France's Oil without ... taking France's Oil?
Simple...overthrow the nation it's in for WMD possession...
It's like stealing your weed in your friend's car....
But here's the best thing that went rather unnoticed.
Later the next year - the interim Government of Iraq agreed to honor France's contracts by paying France BACK for all the Oil they owned...HAHAHA.
So that's more than $100 Billion USD repayment to France how? Through US Dollars gained by exporting Oil to the US.
So basically not only did someone steal your weed from your friend's car, but that same guy tells your friend to pay you back for your weed...and says he'll give that guy the money...by buying the weed off him.
Well why not buy the weed of France?
Because France wanted to sell it for a price that would hurt the US economy - France came first in that deal...and basically Iraq's oil was not for sale.
So the US came in and got what wasn't for sale...the US bought it...at a much cheaper price than it would have been over the long haul...but it still paid for it.
But it bought something that was NOT for sale...
The company involved with Iraqi Oil Fields at the time was Total Fina Elf they were buying up all of Iraq's Oil in part by the connections forged in the scandalous Oil for Food Program which was a way for France to open Iraq's oil to France - without having to adhere to the UN imposed embargoes on Iraq.
Anyway...
Pure and simple this was a genius move...it may be diabolical and/or evil for using US troops in such a manner but ... let's face it...the US Military exists for one thing.
Good business...
The US is not a noble bringer of democracy to anyone...we bombed Germany because they stopped being good business partners...and we made them good business partners.
Japan stopped being good business partners...so we bombed them too...and made them good business partners.
Sometimes we don't have to bomb a nation...China...we made them good business partners with Nixon's diplomacy and their willingness.
Russia? We smashed them economically and made them good business partners.
But what about those "pesky rogue nations" that just won't quit despite all the embargoes in the world?
Well we invaded Iraq and made them AND Libya good business partners...
North Korea and Iran still hold out...but Iran doesn't hold back oil and North Korea doesn't have oil...
But we made South Korea good business partners a long time ago to make up for that....
You get my point.
Bottom-line...we took what wasn't ours and made Iraq pay France for doing so...and now we have a LOT of oil supply for us in the future...it may seem expensive but the cost of the war is nothing compared to the inflated cost of transaction by purchasing that oil from France.
Oh and the 4,000 deaths....who can put a price tag on lives right?
