You are brainwashed, badmutha. This war is absolutely not about democracy. It's all about the oil. The good book says "the love of money is the root of all evil". Don't kid yourself. It's always about money.

...hmmm, like Bill Clinton who kept us out of a war and whose policies were containing and taking down Saddam? Might want to do some real reading on that big guy.

I will take a Democrat in this election sir.

Boy BM, sure got his Ass Handed to him on this topic! Republican Rehab....will be very difficult for conservatives/moderates like BM ilk to endure, but change is "A CHANGING" and it does not include Rethuglicans.

But, it goes well with pom-poms. Iraq is now very segregated and heavily armed on all three sides. This has led to some regional stability along with a very weak central government trying to hold it together. I would be surprised if the country holds together after a US withdrawl.....independent of when that happens.

Yes.

It has worked.

You won't read that in your daily leftist screed or see it on your nightly agitpropcast, but it is.

Otherwise, they would not be reopening colleges and trade schools in Iraq, would they? They didn't do that in Germany until several years after the "surge" there completed its job successfully.

Moron.

Hmm...would Germany have "held together" with Iran...er, Russia on it's back patio had the US withdrawn precipitously?

And Japan, with China pissing nails over what they'd done, and Russia on THEIR back stoop, too...

Whatcha think?

Actually, I agree with you, Tokie. The Soviet Union made the situation very different in both Germany and Japan. Both realized what would happen if the US left.....not to mention both countries were beat down to the ground after years of all out war. And one last point, both countries are far more homogeneous than Iraq...they weren't split into the different competing factions. These are just some of the reasons why we had no combat fatalities in either post-war Japan and Germany and why I think the situation in Iraq won't have quite the same happy ending.
