Human Services - Don't know who you mean but if you are speaking of groups like USO etc thats to keep the troops happy and prepared mentally to go into battle.

All of those assist the military in its mission statement.

Oh they had stress cards not to long after I got out of boot camp went through in the late 80's couple years out in the FMF we herd about them that and giving a medal for graduating fringen boot camp. Politicians need to keep their noses out of shit they don't know about. If we would have pulled out one of these stress cards they talked about when we went through MCRD they would have taken us into the whiskey locker and shoved up our ass. These guys are teaching us the dicipline and skills to stay alive and even as hard as they are on us it is not enough you start taking away their methods because people cry. You don't like some of the shit our military men doing in iraq well I don't either well then leave the military alone to train and be as hard on the recruits as they see fit. The purpose of the military is to protect and defend our nation. There is a number of ways the military can be used to do so and yes if need be kill. But even to just do that you need logistics and support. Support is a much bigger role in militaries like the USA because if you don't you will not keep such a big all volunteer force. And I don't care how big and powerful you are if you don't have logistics and support your nothing but target practice for the enemy. Such has been true all the way back to Alexander, Gangus Kohn so on and so fourth. You have to keep your troops well trained fed healthy and armed. You are taught to kill and stay alive to kill in the military but that is not there job to just kill. The job is to complete the mission or objective set before them by any means that is their job.
