You have been denying the influence of Jewish lobbying group AIPAC, while, in the same breath, admitting you don't even know what AIPAC is. I think, even you, can see the problem with that picture. Nevertheless, here are AIPAC's stated purposes,

1. Pressuring the Palestinian government to adhere to Israeli demands through embargoes and UN resolutions.

2. Strengthening the bond between Washington and Israel through shared intelligence and foreign military and economic aid (totaling $2.52 billion in 2006).

3. Condemning the actions of Iran for pursuing nuclear status and questioning the Holocaust (also levying financial restrictions to hinder nuclear development).

4. Additional actions against countries and groups hostile towards Israel.

As you can see, your new hero, Jewish Joe, adheres quite well to those stated principals. To be fair, many members of congress do as well, but to deny AIPAC's influence is foolhardy.
Holy shit!!! You've nailed it!!!
Lets see, a country that wants to have strong economic and military cooperation with the US. The bastards!!!!
Wants a violent state with the aim of eliminating a Jewish state to comply with UN resolutions. My GOD, the bastards!!!
They seem to have a problem with a country who's president has denied the holocaust occurred and would rather not see that country with a nuclear weapon! What gall!!!
To top it off, they'd like to see action taken, including diplomatic, against countries that would like to see the dreaded JOOOOOOO's obliterated!!
The nerve.
The only part of your post that is alarming, yet telling about your own hatred, is the last paragraph. MANY,MANY,MANY countries, corporations, etc, do the same thing. The only one you have a problem with is AIPAC. No agenda there.

I have a problem with lobbies as a whole, but since this thread is about Joe Lieberman, my focus naturally turned to AIPAC.

US aid to Israel in 2007 totaled 2.46 billion. We condone Israel's possession of nuclear weapons, and, if necessary their use. The contradictory and uneven US foreign policy in the Mideast has been a significant impediment to peace. It has also helped give rise to radical Islam. Yet when someone points out a Jewish lobbying group such as AIPAC, and it's negative influence on US foreign policy, they are accused of bigotry or hate. It's as if Israel is above condemnation, and Jewish lobbies are beyond criticism. Apparently, you subscribe to both.

Justme and SteveK,

The Israeli, Arabs, Hamaz, and Palestinians dilemma over in the Middle East could be solved w/i a 5 year span, however attitudes, opinions, and visionary Geo political agendas must have a compromised end point favoring Israel, Arabs, Hamas, and Palestinians. One thing is for sure, the current blue prints being used by all three parties is not working; its a treadmill of futility.

Its time and long past due for the development of a new "Outside The Box Visionary" peace and reconciliation initiative led by the G8 countries and U.S. and NATO peace keeping military forces; to forever eradicate the bickering eye-for-an-eye revengeful problem solving methods currently being used by the 4 warring factions.

Here's what should be done.

First and foremost it must be agreed upon beyond any shadow of doubt that Israel has a right to exist! and no country on earth should either entertain the idea of Driving Israel into the Sea. Every available means both diplomatically, financially, and militarily will be deployed and used by the G8 countries in conjunction with U.S. and NATO peace keeping military apparatus to ensure just that!

Secondly, Israel must agree to pull back to their original borders that existed when the state of Israel was formed back in 1948. Israel will always have the right to defend itself, however, the NATO Peace Keeping Forces will always apply force before Israel.

Thirdly, the land vacated by Israel will be returned to the Palestinians to give them a homeland or a state.

Forth, a 5 or 10 mile buffer zone or no mans land will be occupied by U.S. and NATO military peace keeping forces so as to keep Israeli's and the Palestinians separated as well as keeping Arabs and Israeli separated for the foreseeable future. The NATO U.S. Peace Keepers must remain NEUTRAL and never take sides. The U.S. NATO forces job is to enforce the no man buffer zone and retalitate militarily whomever decides not to respect the soverign right of these countries. Now, I say, keep Israel, the Palestinians, and Arabs separated b/c for the last 60 years, these factions have failed miserable to show and prove that they can get along.

Fifth, I would bring together the financial wherewithal of all the G8 Countries and the World Bank, to rebuild the economic infrastructure of the new State of Palestine. The same Marshall Plan used to rebuild Germany and Japan after WWII is what is needed to rebuild and provide hopes and future for the state of Palestine and for Palestinians.
