10)Myth: The violence in Iraq has not gone down

During the past two months the violence in Iraq has gone down considerably. It’s just that the main stream news media doesn’t report it. It’s funny to hear the senate majority leader saying that the war is lost a few months before Al-Qaeda is rejected from the Anbar Provence and the violence in Iraq drops 70-80%. The news of this reduction in violence is encouraging and it proves that we are making a difference in Iraq. Now democrats need to find something else to complain about like political reconciliation or Turkey’s actions in WWII. I can’t wait until this conflict is over and history shows that those who doubted the U.S. military’s capability to bring freedom to an oppressed people will be proven wrong once and for all!

11A)Myth: Media bias and negative/untrue reporting has no effect on the moral and lives of our troops.
Of course it does! We have an enemy that killed hundreds of people just because someone drew a cartoon of Muhammad. Can you imagine what they would do if they hear some American saying that we are in this war for oil? Can you imagine how the enemy responds when hard core leftist are saying that we are murdering innocent Muslims for the fun of it? How motivated are our enemies when Harry Reid says “the war is lost”?

Our enemy knows that he can’t beat America face to face so he tries to play on the American media/political system. The worse they can make Iraq look, the less popular the conflict will be, and the more of a chance that our forces will withdraw from Iraq. It’s that simple. It’s no coincidence that the casualty rate in Iraq reached an all time high “for that time” during the November midterm elections. How about the massive number of car bombs that slammed in to Abu Graib Prison after the American media had a huge overreaction? The enemy will go wherever he can to get in to our media spotlight because they know that the only way to win this war is to draw American support away from it. In short, negative and bias media reporting acts as an after action report card for our enemies.

It’s a huge problem to hear an American speak of untrue or negative reports about Iraq because it gives our enemies legitimacy. To our enemies anything negative that is seen in the American media is either truth or proof that their strategy is working. In turn they use it as a recruiting/motivational tool. They say to their buddies “hey Americans are trying to torture innocent Muslims, steal Iraqi Oil, and massacre our people”. Why not? They see it in our news. It must be true! You have Senators calling our troops cold blooded killers, you have far leftists saying that Bush wants to murder the Islamic world, and you have Democrats saying that the war is unwinable. Why wouldn’t this information and propaganda help our enemies? What is it that our enemies and far leftist organizations have in common? They both want us out of Iraq!

Lt General Sanchez: "The basic ethics of a journalist, as laid out here, of seeking truth, fair and comprehensive accounting of events and issues, thoroughness and honesty, all are sometime victims of the massive agenda driven competition for economic or political supremacy. The death knell of your ethics has been enabled by some parent organizations who have chosen to align themselves with political agendas. What is clear to me is that you are perpetuating the corrosive partisan politics that is destroying our country and killing our service members who are at war, in some cases."

11B) Below is what the media and congressmen can do to actually help advocate victory in Iraq.

1) Give military and contractor personnel the benefit of the doubt until proven guilty if they allegedly commit a crime! I know its great to use the actions of a few troops allegedly killing someone as an excuse to get out of Iraq and embolden our enemies but our troops deserve the benefit of the doubt. Murtha is learning this the hard way!

2) Exploit improvements and Victories in Iraq by actually reporting them in the Media! "My god what an outrageous idea!!" The media should never stop reporting good news in an effort to make Iraq look overwhelmingly bad!

3) Actually report our heroes who earn the Medal of Honor as opposed to primetime MSNBC or CNN and exploit them as American heroes. I know reporting heroes draws attention to the good people fighting this war but I guess it’s a risk the liberal media should haft to take!

4) Condemn those who hate our military! Any liberal that spits on our troops, calls them baby killers, or calls them liars in the NY Times should be condemned!

5) Never report anything that you cant prove just because you want a political advantage. For example: “The war is all about oil", " President Bush is Torturing people", " President Bush is sending our troops to war so they can die for his own personal satisfaction", " We are bombing innocent civilians", "Our enemies are just defending against our murdering invading forces", "We went to war to make Halliburton money", "The war is lost", " The Marines were cold blooded killers", etc etc etc.....

6) Back up our Generals in Theater and don’t report skepticism for your own political gain when you don’t like what he says. I know our generals are reporting good news and that hurts the democrats but they are the experts! Just because a politician spent 2 days in the "green zone" it doesn’t make him the expert on Iraq!

7) Once you commit your troops to war don’t immediately try to remove them because things aren’t going as well as planned. I don’t know any war that has gone as well as planned. All your bitching does is helps our enemies.

8) Never ever under any circumstance do you consider the war "lost" while our troops are in the middle of fighting it without haven been defeated once!

9) Never defend your enemy by blaming their hatred on the US on the ones trying to bring the Iraqis Freedom! You can’t blame the actions of a ruthless enemy on our troop’s presence in Iraq!

10) Never tolerate anyone who decapitates innocent men women and children to instill terror in the population!

11) Never say anything that our enemies will use to break the will of our troops in POW camps. This one for you John Kerry!

12) When interviewing someone in the news make sure to tell the other side of the story! This is why Fox News always has a liberal and a conservative on their shows. Keith Olberman hardly ever invites a republican to tell the other side of the story!

13) Don’t legislate a withdraw unless your damn sure that Iraq can sustain itself!

14) Never forget that our enemies want us out of Iraq more than the liberals do! Let’s not give them what they want until we can be sure they can’t take advantage of our absence!

15) Never use the Iraq War supplemental bill that the country needs to fund our troops as a chance to pass bullshit pork legislation! This is another reason why our troops hate democrats! They’re fucking with the money that we need to stay alive in an effort to skip the legislative process for pet projects!

16) Never tell the troops they are losing and then turn around and claim that you’re supporting them!

17) Always remember that for every one soldier that is against the war there are a thousand that are not! Don’t showboat the few that hate Bush and try to claim it as mainstream!

18) Never pull out of a country now when you know it will come back to bite you in the ass later!

19) Nothing good can come from exaggerating and over politicizing bad news. Nothing bad can come from politicizing good news!

20) Once you commit your troops to war you should back the mission you sent them there for! Nothing good comes form leaving a country in the hands of Islamic extremists. Unless you hate the Iraqi people and want to fail in the war on terror.

21) Politicizing withdraw by saying that our presence in the Middle East only breeds more terrorists is a distraction! Of course it does! But leaving them alone won’t make them go away and withdrawing from Iraq will only make them more popular/stronger.

12)Myth: Its President Bush’s fault that the military had little armor before the invasion.

If you look back through history you will hear Democrats complain about the amount of body armor and lack of up armored Humvee’s. Hillary said “The lack of body armor is unforgivable”. After fighting for an investigation she was finally granted one from The Senate Armed Service Committee chairman John Warner. However once the meeting has started she was no where to be found. Why? We’ll back when her husband Bill Clinton was president there was absolutely no body armor for the troops. None. Zero! Thanks to President Bush there are now over 1,000,000 sets. Under the Clinton administration the number of armored Humvees available to the military was 1,300. Under President Bush it’s over 26,000. Democrats also turned down the Pentagons request for $4.75 billion for the mine resistant, ambush-protected vehicles that safeguard our troops from IED explosions. While the democrats couldn’t find 124 billion for our troops they instead found other things to spend billions on, like subsidies for the spinach farmers or the shrimp industry.

It’s instructive to look at what happened to the 1st Cavalry Division under Bill Clinton and what its strength is today under George Bush.

In 2000, the division had three brigades, – M1A2 (base-design Abrams tanks, Bradley A2 (base-design tanks), the situational awareness of the battlefield was provided solely by soldiers on the ground calling in spot reports, communications were by line-of-sight radio, there was no armor protection for Humvees, there was no connectivity between services, and the brigades had a mere 1,600 radios.

In 2006, however, the division had four brigades with more maneuver-capable companies. They had the M1A2 System Enhancement Package including improved armor, independent thermal sights, and embedded digital command systems. Their Bradley A3 tanks had improved armor, and embedded digital command systems. Battlefield situational awareness was enhanced by unmanned aerial reconnaissance vehicles (UAVs) integrated by Army Battle Command Systems (Network Centric Warfare). Communications were by a digital command-and-control network, including satellites. All Tactical Wheeled Vehicles off the forward operating bases were to be armored and radios in a Brigade numbered 2,500.

Today the democrats have also refused to get the Iraq war supplemental bill to the President. I’m sure they will wait until the last minute and stuff it full of pork, in an effort to get pet projects passed without opposition.

MATTHEWS:—was this My Lai? Was this a case of – when you say cold blood Congressman, a lot of people think you’re basically saying you got some civilians sitting in a room around a field and they’re executed.

the first thread was bad, the sequel, as expected, is worse....

Iraq was and is an immoral debacle.....you can play your partisan game with it...but that doesn't change the immorality of it...or the fact that this administration has made it a total cluster fuck....

FYI, I'm NOT a Democrat....
