U.S. Rejects International Call to Ban Cluster Bombs

On Friday 46 countries agreed in Oslo to develop a new international treaty to ban the use of cluster munitions by 2008. The United States, Russia, Israel, and China chose not to attend the conference. U.S. allies Romania, Poland and Japan attended the conference but refused to sign the Oslo Declaration

Well what else is new. Basically if we banned them we couldn't sell them. Not good for business.

The United States, China, Russia, and Israel declined to ban cluster bombs? No surprise since they are the most likley countries to use them.

Cluster bombs,depleted uranium,50 calibur 3000 rounds per minute machine guns,napalm,agent orange,etc vs our enemys' weapons?
Carpet bombing,saturation bombing,shock and awe vs what?

I don't understand what the problem is with these cluster bombs. The tax payers paid for them. I wonder if you would prefer the military buy new weapsons to replace them or use these very effective weapons up?
