I keep hearing/reading where many believe we need to sit down and talk with Ahmadinejad/Iran. But no one seems to have any real concrete idea about what we should talk to him about or the stance we should take with him. So, in an effort to give you folks who are bent on "diplomacy" the benefit of the doubt I thought I'd start a thread dedicated to just that topic. To get you started, here's what Ahmadinejad had to say recently. Well, in all honesty, this is kind of a repeat of what he's said numerous times now. This is just the most recent rant from him.

Ahmadinejad: Israel will disappear
Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad and Palestinian Prime Minister Ismail Haniyeh held talks in Doha, Qatar on Friday.

The Islamic Republic News Agency reported Saturday Ahmadinejad saying, "As everybody knows, the Zionist regime was created to establish dominion of arrogant states over the region and to enable the enemy to penetrate the heart Muslim land."

Saying the Israeli regime was inherently a "threat," and was "on the verge of disappearing"
Haniyeh praised the support of the Iranian government and nation for the cause of the Palestinian nation. "The Iranian nation's brilliant stand in the rightful battles of the Palestinians encourages them and signifies their deep understanding of Islamic principles," Iran's official state-run news agency reported.

"The Intifada (uprising) of the Palestinian nation will continue until the cause of the Palestinians is materialized and Al-Quds Al-Sharif (Jerusalem) is liberated," added Haniyeh.

Ahmadinejad went on to say that, "Today scores of Western politicians are in doubt as to the future of this illegitimate regime and its existence has come under question.

"There is no doubt the Palestinian nation and Muslims as a whole will emerge victorious," the Iranian president told Haniyeh.

"The continued commission of crimes by the Zionist regime will speed up the collapse of this fictitious regime," said Ahmadinejad.

All right, I'll weigh in...

I would say,
Whether fictitious or not to you Ahmadinejad it (Israel) exists & will continue to exists as all other nations currently exist. We need to find a human solution born of dignity for both the Israelis & the Palestinians. When we can have a discussion that tries to find a shared harmony of the people of the book in the land of Israel then I will believe you are serious. As long as the cause of the Palestinians is shown to be a greater priority than the freedom of expression of the peoples in All of the nations of the Middle East I will say you are choosing the politics of distraction over the politics of ruling by the wills of the peoples in the region.
When you are ready to pull the log from your own eye, we will be able to begin the discourse that leads to finding the true common ailings & common solutions endemic to all peoples regardless of geographical location & maybe we can work towards living up to the meaning of Jerusalem, The Great City of Peace.

Funny you libs think we can sit down at a table and come up with mutually agreed terms. When our own congress poeple cant sit down and do this and suppsodly have the same intrest(usa)

well not to get all bible thumping in here. but i do believe in jesus.

and in the bible it says something like i will gather the scattered sheep and bring them to israel...

and when israel is encompassed by the enemy know that the end is near..even at the gate.

but uhm. if you are a christian you should know this..does bush take christianity into consideration for diplomatic efforts?
