Churchill once said that countries did not have permanent friends and permanent enemies......just permanent objectives! How true! Take a look at American foreign policy....

We supported Saddam Hussien and provided him with logistical support when he used chemical weapons against Iran in the 1980s. Then we had to invade them to depose Saddam!

We supported the Taliban in Afghanistan when they were fighting the Soviets. Now we are involved in another war to defeat the Taliban!

We used the Pakistani Intelligence Service to arm the Taliban. Now we are upset that the Pakistani ISI is closely aligned with the Taliban!

And on and on...and on....
