Note to George Bush ...
"WASHINGTON (CNN) -- A Senate committee will move forward with a bill that would authorize military tribunals to try suspected terrorists without many of the provisions the Bush administration wants, its chairman said Wednesday.
The bill is backed by the chairman of the Armed Services Committee, Sen. John Warner, R-Va., and two other prominent Republicans -- John McCain of Arizona and South Carolina's Lindsey Graham. But the White House and the Senate's GOP leadership oppose the measure and back an administration-drafted bill that has raised the concerns of human rights groups and military lawyers." CNN.com
>>>Mr. Bush, just go along with the Warner/McCain/Graham bill and STFU. If your bill raises human rights concerns it (like most things you've proposed) is probably all wrong for this country.

Finally!! The strong women of the senate are banding together. I wonder why Arlen Specter isn't throwing her hat in?

Why does George Bush still hang onto the things that even people in his own party are voting against?

I've noticed that, too. I think it's because they are ashamed of their party.

I guess that all depends on whether you're really concerned about "preserving" this country and "protecting" its citizens as President Bush is trying to do or whether you want to see this country fall to any enemy as fast as possible like Warner/McCain/Graham obviously to want.

Warner, McCain, and Graham only ran on the republican ticket so the people in their states would get a democrat regardless of which party they voted for. But that does not make them "people in his own party".
That's like saying if you stand in a garage, you're a car.

Because Bush stands for what he thinks is right unlike flip-flop whatever the poll says John Kerry.

"Because Bush stands for what he thinks is right ..."
Problem is, what Bush THINKS is right is just flat out wrong.
