Default Trade deficit falls!

Europeans are crying all over the place.

March trade deficit drops by bigger-than-expected amount - Yahoo! News

By MARTIN CRUTSINGER, AP Economics Writer 51 minutes ago

WASHINGTON - The U.S. trade deficit narrowed sharply in March as demand for imports fell by the largest amount since the last recession was ending.

The Commerce Department reported Friday that the deficit totaled $58.2 billion, down 5.6 percent from February, a larger improvement than had been expected.

The smaller deficit reflected spreading weakness in the U.S. economy, which cut demand for imports by 2.9 percent, the largest one-month decline since December 2001, one month after the last recession ended.

The decline, which pushed imports down to $206.7 billion, was led by a 5.9 percent decrease in America's foreign oil bill. The amount of petroleum fell as the average price for crude oil jumped to an all-time high. Imports of autos and a wide variety of other consumer goods from furniture to toys and clothing also fell

Americans can not afford European products. This is a good thing.
Americans are being forced to buy US products and are keeping jobs in America.
Do you see this as a negative?

>>>Being 'forced'? Nah, I don't see that as a good thang. Particularly since you Republicans will give those jobs to India as soon as they are created.

Yes, it could be thought of that way but I see crowded malls and have difficulties finding a parking space nowadays. How do you make sense of that?

You blame Republicans for outsourcing and then disagree that buying American made products will keep jobs in the USA?
You speak like Obama. lol

Boy,

This is a simple one. Why did the trade deficit fall? Economics 101. The slide of the American Dollar. Imports have become more expensive. Taking away the comparitive advantage foreigners have had importing their CRAP for decades, hell going on 100 years. Not to mention the fact they import CRAP, products full of lead and so on.... Moreover Americans disposable income has flattened to $0 after expenses. Hell we as a nation can't even pay our utility bills. With that said, if this is suppose to be a positive spin on Trade Deficit, pull your head out your ass. Take a class on Macro-Economics idiots.

Today, a higher trade deficit is good?
Tomorrow, a higher trade deficit will be bad?
Liberals think economics are a grab bag of political spins, no facts. Hahahaha

Dude, you are so shallow. Your hole concept of an argument is "conservative" vs. "liberal" you can't seem to get out of the box. Let me guess, your in your 50's, better yet your 60 something and you can type. Have you sold your real estate yet? It keeps on depreciating while I'm typing. You might want to take Euros over the dollar for it. Do your calculation on currency exchange so you don't fuck yourself.

Why do you think I'm Liberal? Why would you think I'm conservative. Is it all based on my Avatar? It proves a point, a picture is worth a thousand words.

Thanks Teak.

You are observant.

your in your 50's, better yet your 60 something and you can type.
I'm younger.

Thank God, I do not live in California nor New York. The middle-class can not afford a home in CA nor NY.

Why do you think I'm Liberal? Why would you think I'm conservative. Is it all based on my Avatar?
I do not know what you are, except that you are a racist.
