Okay, connies ....
Bush added: "We can only imagine how much more dangerous this conflict would be if Iran had the nuclear weapon it seeks."
I know I can't imagine it. Makes me shudder all over. And you connies must be just about to soil your undergarments, eh?

Actually no. They MAY be able to cobble a nuke, or two together, but we have like 5000, can deliver them 1/2 around the world, and can drop them on a dime. Personally I would like to see us use about 1/2 of them.

I believe that they already have one and are just waiting for the right time to use it.

They were able to advance their program at a much faster pace, because they had to do nothing to broaden their influence across the ME, thanks to the removal of Sadaam, and the Shiite majority electing an Iran/Hezbollah friendly government in Iraq.

How does their influence across the Middle East affect the advancement of their program? They would not have needed support from other ME nations to advance their program.

They didn't have to spend a dime or fire a shot to reach their goal of a Shia dominated ME. All their efforts and focus was on their nuclear program

The money and technological resources were going to be earmarked for the nuclear program anyway. This didn't happen overnight. Why would they need Shia support throughout the ME to build a nuclear program? The Shia support is in half of Iraq and Hezbollah (which I think falls short of domination of the ME), who they are supporting financially and with weaponry. It seems that they would have had more money to put into the nuclear program if they weren't supporting other Shia groups.

Just curious. Why does it make you or anyone shudder all over? If they don't have it then they are no threat.

>>>All I know is that the Arab League (particularly the Saudis) is mightly concerned about Iran's domination of the Middle East. We screwed up, huh?

weeks after 9/11 a full page ad appeared in the NYTimes excoriating US policies over decades in the mid east. It specifically pointed to Iran as the gravest threat there because of the nature of its religious totalitarianism.

just to remember that even some non-neo-cons were against Iran for a long time.
