pushing the "pathway to citizenship" crap on illegal aliens? I don't believe most illegals give a shit about citizenship. I believe most want to earn a few bucks here, send some of that home, and eventually return to Mexico.

I live in East LA and you are mostly correct. The only exception I take is that most of the illegals around here dont come for a few dollars and leave. They come and stay and breed and even though they almost never get their US citizenship, their children become citizens by birth and Still consider themselves Mexican, not American. They are a drain on resources, jobs, and money, which does flow to Mexico. Not to mention fostering the illegal drug trade.. Their long term goal is to take back the entire southwest for Mexico and turn it into a third world ghetto like the one they came from.

You are correct Burninginla. And they are sending a LOT of American dollars home. There are now neat, clean, paved, lighted little villages dotting rural Mexico with signs at their limits reading "Welcome to _______. The village that dollars built." Ain't that nice?

Exactly George. Many could give a rats ass about becoming a citizen. But it is the politicians inside the beltway that are pushing this idea that they want citizenship.

Citizens can legally vote......Illegals can't....I don't think the polls are taken to have any effect on existing citizens. Just to poke at stick at legislators to establish amnesty, building a broader voting base for the up and coming election, damn the cost to the American people in the meantime. On the other hand, could be these polls are publicized to further polarize existing citizens' views of illegal immigrants and the lacking ability of the current immigration laws to process legal immigration status to citizenship (as a truely humanitarian question).
