For nearly fifty years, educators in public schools having been progressively selling sex on America's children. They've gradually introduced them to the concept that they have the freedom to have sex at any time, anywhere and with anyone they choose, including homosexual sex and sex with a good many of the so-called teachers. They've also pushed the concept that they hve the freedom to reject the responsibilities that go along with becoming sexually active. All under the guise of "freedom of choice".
For the past decade these so-called educators have fought tooth and nail the concept of not pushing all this sex on these kids and this study is supposed to prove that teaching abstinance has failed? I don't think it proves that the lesson has failed; I think it proves only that the schools have succeeded in intentionally dooming it to failure.
So to all of you who are relishing in these results I say, congratulations, pass out the condoms, open up a few more abortion clinics, and let's fund more HIV/AIDS clinics. Because "the results are in" and America's youth gets to pay the price. What a sad, sad road those kids are being sent down.

I am not sure what schools you went to but the public schools I went to the phys ed and health ed teachers said (pretty cut and dry)... - sex is between male/female in order to reproduce
- if you have sex with a partner that has a disease, this (pics supplied that made you barf) is what your genitals will look like and can even go insane or die from certain diseases (list supplied).
I beg to differ with you on this. Try looking at some of the parents sometime, many of them with the deliquent children did not even attend class themselves. The message was never heard.

What part of " They've gradually introduced them to the concept" did you not get? When I went to school the concept of having sex taught to kids in public school was just introduced and it was not well received by the majority of parents. The biggest fear most parents had at that time was that it would end up becoming exactly what it has become. It's taken nearly 50 years for the nanny state to progress (if you want to call it that) from the simple message of " this is how babies are made" to the messages handed out now; " here are some free condoms", " you can get birth control pills and abortions here and here", and " masterbation and homosexuality are legitimate equal options for having sex."

Oh? As I remember it "parents are afraid to discuss sex with their children" was the excuse the nanny government used for taking control of that portion of parenting. There were nearly as many parents that showed up for those meetings and rejected the idea of sex education in public school as there were that showed up when they decided to kick God out of public schools. But like Madeline Murray O'Hare, evil won out.
But if you're now claiming that all these parents are too lazy or stupid to tell their children about sex simply because they're uneducated or look a certain way then you are not only falsely claiming the superiority of teachers with regard to parenting skills, you're also choosing an equally lame argument for continuing this charade to what they used when they first introduced it. If you believe what you just said here, how can you possibly explain the fact the offspring of generations upon generations of uneducated people for literally thousands of years were able to learn about where babies came from without the benefit of the so-called suprerior parenting skills of some nanny government?
The fact is, history is proof that no one needs teachers to tell children about sex and there is more than sufficient proof since they demanded the right to teach it that they are in fact much worse at it than parents ever were. The ONLY reason sex education was ever introduced into the public school system was so that the mandatory educational system in this country could be used to reshape the moral attitudes of America's children.

Uh, the facts are that most parents do not discuss this with their children as well as many other things. You blame this ont he schools still.
I stated that the Health ed stuff I had was a the scared 'straight method' (they went to the DARK side, the the acceptance side) and it seems as though the latest round of 'abstinence training' from the government has not done a whole hell of a lot. So what is supposed to work and what is to blame...

I'd like to see the U.S. perharps take a European stance on sex and education. Europeans don't appear to have an unrealisitic outlook towards sex and as a result european teennagers and adults have a much better maturity, responsibility and understaning about SEX!!!!

The schools run by the nanny state are the ones that taught parents that they would take care of this part of their parenting responsibilities. Parents did not want to give this resposibility up and as I stated before, they fought it tooth and nail. It's taken nearly fifty years to indoctrinate the masses into believing the lie that they need to step aside and allow the village to raise their children. It shouldn't be much longer though and the U.S. will "progress" into the same state that Europe has ventured into and the government will begin taking children away from their parents because the parents refuse to allow their children to be intoctrinated into the immorality of the unGodly (atheist) state.

I don't buy your low opinion of the majority of parents and I've already proven it's wrong. There is not one shred of evidence that teachers in public schools are any more intelligent or fit to teach children about anything other than reading, writing, and arithmatic. Parents have pushed for one method or another in their fight to regain what the government took. The "scared strait" method was fought just as hard by the schools as the "abstinance only" method has been fought. The problem is once you allow an evil intity to have control over something, it's nearly impossible to get it back.

Of course!! Because before the governments in Europe starting teaching sex, no one over there knew where babies came from. Right?
