The reason it was a failure is the backlog of dealerships waiting for their rebates. That caused the dealers to begin to stop selling the cars under the cars program.

Could it have been administered better, probably... but that any gov't agency under any admin, regardless of who's in congress.

It met most of it's goals. It accomplished what it was intended to, which was to remove "clunkers", while giving people incentives to buy new, in order to bolster the car MAKERS. All the funds have been used, regardless of some dealers pulling out. The fact that there is an unsurprising hiccup in the final stage of it, does not make the entire effort a failure. Nor, really... any component of it. Unless those dealerships never get paid. And I don't think that's likely.

BD, look under the hood of your pontiac. Look at the parts... They have stickers like, "made in Mexico" and "made in Canada". Seven out of ten jobs assembling american autos, is done across border. Do't forget, several foreign automakers have plants in the US.

Regardless... I never said it was the best plan, or even a good one. However... it accomplished it's stated goals...

We are not talking about under the hood......we are talking about entire automobile. You asked for the truth you got it. Do you not get tired of our TAX MONEY simply being wasted to present the appearance of doing something?
