Default Republicans Block G.Warming Bill ...

Quote:
WASHINGTON - Republicans have blocked efforts to bring a global warming bill up for a final Senate vote after a bitter debate over its economic costs and whether it would push gasoline prices higher. -MSNBC
>>>It seem that some Republicans are afraid the global warming bill would push gas prices higher. BWAHAHAHAHAHAHA. This is after 7.5 years of doing everything in the power to push gas prices to the limit.

It's good to see, however, that Republicans are back to their old obstructionist ways. They make a good peanut gallery. Obviously, they stink at leadership.

If you for one second think that this bill is about the price of gas your a bigger moron than anyone ever imagined.

This bill is all about, political power, PORK, taxes, and higher prices on just about everything you'll ever buy.

This bill is widely known as, the “Boxer-Warner-Lieberman Green Pork Bill” and the “Send more Jobs to China Bill”. A few call it the “Climate Security Act – S.2191.”

“Boxer-Warner-Lieberman will increase the price of gas and create a special-interest-favoring, lobbyist-controlled, political pork dispensing machine dressed up as environmentalism. Boxer-Warner-Lieberman isn't environmentalism; it's pork barrel politics. “

What the bill claims it will do is reduce carbon emissions into the atmosphere by 66% in 2050. How will it be done? The government set limits on carbon emissions and issue "allowances" that specify how much carbon can be produced.

Here’s where we get into the barrel politics. Half of these "allowances" will be auctioned off to businesses – which is an up front tax. That up front tax is expected to cost $3.32 trillion. Of course businesses will pass these indirect taxes along to consumers. Then the politicians decide what Special groups will get a piece of the new $3.32 trillion in revenue.

Boxer-Warner-Lieberman is packed with pork, to redistribute new tax revenues to favored groups and for buying off others that might otherwise put their armies of lobbyists to work to defeat the bill.

Not only does the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) estimate that the bill will increase the cost of gas. It says this bill will increase electricity prices by 44% by 2030.

The National Association of Manufacturers (NAM) estimates that Boxer-Warner-Lieberman will increase the cost of a gallon of gas by as much as $3.25 by 2030.

“The bill is 500 pages of distorted science, pork projects, and a tax-and-trade solution that is a complicated mess and will send U.S. jobs overseas. The result is the most massive expansion of the federal government since the New Deal. The tax burden to families would skyrocket by $1 trillion. The average family would face higher heating and cooling bills, more pain at the pump, and more expensive consumer products.”

I want to stress this.

“The Lieberman-Warner bill is the largest pork bill ever considered by Congress. No matter how many revisions this bill undergoes, it remains a massive redistribution of wealth, the largest new tax and spend program in our Nation’s history. The handouts being offered by the sponsors of this bill come straight from the pocket of families and workers in the form of higher gas, power, and heating bills. The Lieberman-Warner bill offers nothing except pain at the gas pump and more expensive consumer goods.”

Oh and by the way a republican is a co-sponsor of this POS bill. The democrats and the independents have their thilthy hands in pie also.

Why don't you stupid ass partisans shut up, WAKE up and take a look at who it is fucking you!

Yeah, right. The republicans came out and said that they were fine with the bill exept it would raise gas prices. Give me a break.

That my friend is a "simplification" of the reason they blocked it. They dumb it down for you especially, in the attempt to explain something that is far beyond you. They had the stupid idea you wouldn't want to pay more for gas and everything else.

By the way who is speaking for the republicans on this subject?

Why would Democrats hold a vote on a bill like this at this time, knowing Democrats will have a larger majority in both Houses and Obama will be President next year?
Democrats are either afraid the elections will go bad for them or they want to blame Republicans for this disasterous bill that will hurt most Americans?
Which one is it?

Good god man. Read for comprehension!

BREAKING NEWS

WASHINGTON - Senate Republicans on Friday blocked a global warming bill that would have required major reductions in greenhouse gases, after a bitter debate over its economic costs and whether it would substantially raise gasoline and other energy prices.

Reading this even a 5th grader can tell,

Economics is the biggest issue. (hint it comes 1st) It is by far the prominent issue because it covers the rest and so much more.

Then comes rise in gasoline, it comes after, because it is a secondary issue.

Then please note the whole sentence is tied to energy prices in general. This means all energy prices.

So out of all this you think the bill was blocked just because of gas prices?

And this is your source material?

You are not smarter than a 5th grader!

Why don't you stupid ass partisans shut up, WAKE up and take a look at who it is fucking you! And how!

Yep, the families of 100,000 soldiers thank Bush every day for protecting their families from knowing about the horrors of war first hand. Especially the select 4000 who have been the recipients of Bush's most determined family protection.

Yes, this is about energy costs. Republicans want their children and grandchildren to pay much more for today's consumption of energy.

Let's assume that as much oil exists in protected lands as was opened for extraction in the 70s so the price of oil drops for 20 years as it did in the 80s and 90s. What will you blame for preventing the oil companies from stopping the explosion in oil prices in 2030?

Of course, all the vast untapped reserves were opened up in the 70s - where is all that oil from the oil shales that we were promised back in the 70s, then the 80s, and now? Exxon is making $10B in profits so they must really be investing big in extracting the oil from the oil shales, right???

But not to worry, I'm sure that if the entire west is excavated for the coal and oil shale with the suport of government subsidizes and the dirversion of all the west's water to these projects, the west can be turned into a vast wasteland.

Meanwhile, I will enjoy the natural beauty of the Northeast where the land is dominated by granite which is totally useless for making energy. Unless one is an environmentalist....
