where did you even start to get that impression?

NO ... BUT no should have the right to tell anyone what they can and can NOT do with their own body and life ...

Who left anyone to play god with someone else life?

... it's called FREEDOM ...

who are you or anyone else that thinks you have the RIGHT to take that from ANYONE?

Before you get that right ...

then I should have the right to tell you to stop wearing ALL synthetic materials - their chemicals are hazardous to the environment!

It is the same thing ...

careful - you sound like a Vermont socialist ...

Sure I believe it's discrimination (and yes I'm a smoker) but I'll tell you why I think it's discrimination. How many are injured playing sports every year? How many maimed and injured rock climbing/paragliding/scuba-diving, biking, etc. Lets be real about this. I'm gonna have to say SPORTS and other activities of the like are to blame for much more cost and burden on the healthcare industry than smokers do. I would give you stats, but I have no idea where to even begin to look up info on how many were hospitalized as a direct result of playing baseball or mountain biking or god-forbid skateboarding and the like, but it has to be lots and lots. I would have to say in my opinion unless they also are raising premiums on people engaged in activities that highly up their odds on being injured on a daily basis then no, they shouldn't be allowed to up the rates on someone just because they smoke. How about peeps who work around large machines and can/could/do loose fingers/arms/legs etc maybe they should have to pay more also due to their risks.... how about Police persons or Firemen or that type? They are almost guaranteed to need medical attention sooner or later... better charge them more also.

This is a dangerous path we are beginning to walk down.

you are right ... it's NOT Justice ... when it is acceptable to JUST US who do NOT smoke it's not equality!

How many people have died from car accidents?

Seriously;
  1. Not every smoker gets lung cancer
  2. Not every non smoker goes without lung cancer
Sure ... it's not healthy!

I have NO right to tell you how to treat your own body ...

besides that ... if you die from it ... one less person to effect the carbon footprint of the world ...

.... and if you are buying tanks of oxygen ... that has to be helping the "Global Warming" issue! .... some has to be leaking out!
