This is something both right and left can unite on. Using campaign laws to shut down speech on the Internet is just a bad idea and I don't see any potential justification for it. Blogs expose corruption in politics, and if you shut them down you're just helping the established interests that campaign finance laws are designed to regulate.

Agreed. This is no different then people who hold protests and hand out brochures. I find it funny that the same people who hope for more informed voters are considering limiting ways that voters become informed. Even if some information is false, the fact of the matter is that it is promoting discussion which is invaluable.

This is complete BS, just another slide down the slippery slope, I hope someone like the ACLU will fight this. I don't see how they can regulate bloggers. I bet many from both parties will support this becuz it will help them maintain control. While blogging can benefit them, it can also be used to rally up support for a new grass roots movement. If you check out what most are really saying is that, they're pissed at the government period!!!
