most people think that no one except a few groups of people can get it- thus feel safe having sex with multiple people.
even virgins can be infected their first time. HIV can also be passed through labor and through breastfeeding.
many drugs can transfer the disease.
some places that do tattoing and piercing aren't heavely inspected. they are suppose to use clean needles and new ink on each person. many follow the needle rule but not the ink one.
