Actually if you make the hemp plant legal to grow it would solve a lot of problems. Let me explain.
Hemp can be:
Made into clothing
Rope (it is stronger than most ropes today)
Paper products
Houses (it is a very sturdy plant)
Is is also cheaper than trees and grows faster as well

This modern problem dates back to some very strange prohibition era laws and does involve hemp too. We have to rethink some the of the statutes that are on the books first before a constructive policy is arrived at. Right now we have real difficulties.

Marijuana should be legal to grow for personal use. Say an acre per person, maybe 5 for Snopp and Tommy Chong. Think of the amount of activity on the border that would be eliminated, freeing up personnel to focus on the real threats coming across our border with Mexico.

A modest proposal Dommy, you left out more room in our jails for pedophiles like Rob Lowe, R. Kelly and Gary Glitter, or Murders, wife beaters, ect.

Also it would bolster Big Pharma even more, now you can buy "Pfizer Crack" or "Pfunroc" you could go on the "Jenny Crank" diet.

I can just see the ad for Pfunroc, "are you tired of having all of your teeth?, are you sick of being a normal wieght and having a normal sized butt? Don't you want to achive visual and auditory halucinations? Pfunroc!!

In closing, "Many people become addicts when they are given the drugs by dealers who hope to get them hooked",

Really? Be sure to cite the grade school textbook you lifted that line from.

You wouldn't buy them from anybody. Like I said, they would be given away. I could care less if drug addicts kill themselves. Why wouldn't dealers give addictive drugs away intitially? It only makes good business sense. It is like a free trial offer.

It seems you are missing the point entirely. By driving away a very large percentage of the business (addicts), the prices rise to a level that non-addicts don't buy. If some happen to still manage to get addicted, the dealers still don't get the income because people have an option to get them for free.

I am sure most people wouldn't agree to this outrageous solution. It was meant to draw responses. Perhaps you should look at Swift's "A Modest Proposal", because you obviously have never heard of it. Since you haven't heard of it maybe you should start reading some textbooks.

I was taking your advice and "taking your post with a grain of salt." I wasn't looking to make a point, just trying to break things up a bit. I have grown weary of Iraq and Israel. I guess I am not funny, my mom always told me I was funny, and handsome.

That whole idea is absurd. Legalizing hard drugs is very stupid. Soft drugs are alright in the terms that they don't kill people, but should be monitered with consumption. Sure, legalize the soft drugs to make some people be happier and reduce costs in drug protection. No sweat. Just be waiting for people asking for the hard stuff legalized after that.

Remember: When you give a mouse a cookie...
(Or: if you give a druggie some marijuana...)
