It seems members of the Christian Taliban have been editing movies they purchase, taking out what THEY consider objectionable: nudity, profanity, etc. and than renting out the movies to their Puritan friends. Some wacko outfit called Clean Flicks is doing this nonsense. Hey, people! If you don't like the movie, don't buy it! These movies are copywritten and the contents belong to the studios and directors. Anyway, kudos to Judge Richard Matsch for his ruling on the matter.

I am a fan of the network FX, I watch several programs on it. My children aren't allowed in the room when I watch a program of "Nip/Tuck" "Rescue me", ect... It sends the message "do as I say, not as I do". There is so much violence, profanity, and sex on TV and movies it's incredible. On the Disney channel, they even say "what the hell?". I am all for parental controls on the TV and the computer and if filtering out that has a good story line, so be it. It's in the privacy of someone's own home and if they don't want to see violence, hear cuss words, and watch sex, but watch a good story line, I don't have a problem with it.

You can purchase and use a product as you see fit BUT you can't change the content of that product, MAKE copies and rent it out. That is one reason they have copyright laws. Even if these Puritan nut cases didn't edit the movies they bought, they couldn't make copies and rent them. Otherwise people could buy movie DVDs and open their own theater.

You need to see a movie in another country thatyou have seen at home and this sort of thing is done all the time. Different groups will edit the movie to suit certain rating criteria. It is nothing new.

I don't see what the problem is. Movies are edited for television all of the time. I'll guarantee you that the television version of "Scarface" is not the same as the theatrical version. Nudity, graphic content, and language are taken out of movies all of the time for this purpose. What do you care what these people watch? Why should you be able to tell them what they can watch and what they can't watch? I could care less if people watch Disney movies or gay porn. I think it is you who have the problem, not them.
