Yeah... they need to go, and market is already weeding them out, but for starters we need repeal the REWARDING TAX BREAK you get if you purchase on of these monsters.
I personally drive a Jeep Liberty, which sometimes hard but my family has been driving SUVs all of our lives because we come from a farming background.
If you really want to be patriot you would never buy one of those monoliths because it just making it more and more difficult to cut our ties to the Middle East. That is the ultimate goal...

What tax break is that? You mean if I buy a SUV I will get a tax break? Do I need to know a secret handshake or something? My transportation gets 55 mpg so I guess I don't qualify for a tax break.
What is making it more and more difficult to cut our ties to the Middle East is the idiotic environmentist who are stopping domestic production of oil. It seems to me its far more unpatriotic to force us to buy from our enemies then it is to drive the automobile of our choice.

Nazi, I think that you need to back up the tax break comment. The last I heard was that if you bought a hybrid you get a tax break, but when I bought my SUV I didn't get a tax break. I am being Patriotic every time I gas up my Expedition.

So do I. But I still don't think Gore, Edwards, and crowd would approve even if it were economical as far as full-size pick-ups go. We also have a SUV which is about as economical as SUV's go . . . I don't think it would make a difference to Edwards. |

LOL Rob, I love how you address IHNR as Nazi. Too funny. Anyways there are tax breaks for business owners in terms of write offs I believe where the vehicle has to be ABOVE a certain weight threshold. F150's and Family type SUV's don't make the cut but Hummers, F250s, The bigger vehicles do.
This, I believe, is where you here people complaining about tax breaks for gas guzzlers. Probably 90+ percent of the people in F250s could get by with F150s FWIW.
