Darwin would not have had the same views on race today as he did in the 19th century, because his powers of observation and intellectual honesty would have exposed the errors of his ways to himself.
As for his not be a "trained scientist". True in an academic sense, but it wouldn't matter. His methodology would have been accepted by science today as it was then. After all fact is fact in science.

Geez SN! What an intellectual elitist you are ...you logically consider scientific method instead of just emotionally driven religious and political rants.
Also, Soho, good points made.

You'd be very wrong. Science is the engine that runs this country, without he massive funding in science during the 50's and 60's america would never have become the power it is. As it is, science in the US is falling behind, and will be one of the largest reasons america loses the top spot.
You really need to stop trolling though.

Who is talking about the 50s and 60s?
Scientific research has been destroyed in America with corruption.
Billion$$$ are being given to research projects that produce results to fit a political agenda.....global warming, sex education etc...

If you think global warming is a fake, you're going to be in for a surprise in a few years. The only question for scientists nowadays is how much effect humans have upon it, not whether or not it's happening.
Sex education isn't science, it isn't even sociology, it's EDUCATION.
Science research is still going strong in the US, but with the baptists running the white house, things like stem cell research, and many other important fields are going to end up years ahead in other countries.
Space used to be US and russian territory, now it'll be europe and china's. The US's biggest problem isn't politics in science (that's everywhere) but the fact that the same people who think outsourcing is a good idea are running science programs, short term sell able results are the only things they want.

Open debate is going on in this thread and thousands of studies across the world. In an acidemic environment it is discussed thousands of times a day.
The place for open debate is in open forums and other non controled situations. That does not mean it should thrust into our schools on elimentary levels or high school. Church and religious settings choose not to teach evolution in bible school, and that is their privelage.
Spiritual belief in any of its many forms is best left within the homes and not forced into the public educational system, which uses imperical testing for the basis of teaching the adaptations and mutational changes that survival favors in suceeding generations.
In the animal world mutations that tend to disfavor sucessful passing of trates within animals and plants that are not as efficient as those before them donot continue .
Only in mankind has such disfavored changes been catored too for their survival. Nature is not so kind, or is it?

31,000 Scientists have debunked global warming theories.
Al Gore and his cronies at the UN are on an island all by themselves now.
Since my area has been suffering from global cooling, this means it will only get worse with steps taken to reduce greenhouse gases.
More evidence that Scientific research (Especially, College research) has been rendered unless and a waste of money!

If the fairness doctrine is imposed on Americans, forums of this type will be regulated, say like youtube is now.
I have been attacked by youtube for posting negative comments about Obama.
Public schools are pushing the Homo anal sex religion and Christians must fight to replace it with a Christian agenda. Religion will always be apart of American society.
