2. Repeal 1968 GCA

3. Temporarily ban hunting rifles and bird/clay shotguns to force the fuds to buy real arms. Limit number of bastard calibres temporarily.

4. Allow shooting of trespassers in Mexican border areas

5. Public school firearms training via Police/NG/USMil (excellent recruiting op)

6. Temporary subsidies for firing range expansions.

7. Large scale Civilian Marksmanship Programs.


Only 5,6,7 would cost anything. 1 and 2 would save money.

Why not ask a philanthropist to buy guns for everyone.

My view is no one should really buy anything for anyone. You want it bad enough, you work and buy it yourself.

Actually.. with a support that is the whole community
( one after the other, along the border areas) the Property-owners etc could just BE there and that would deter and "stem" the tide. If the border-crossers keep coming, or become more violent.. well. THEN we call in law-enforcement..
And since every citizen is already in the fray ( so to speak) the police would have to.. The Governors would HAVE to .. the local actions of direct self-defense would force the Federal gov't to support it.
Or does anyone think bush would call the army on our own citizens ( Waco?)

Actually he is right on the mark. In Switzerland all males must complete military service. When they leave the service they MUST take their issued weapon with them. This includes pistols, fully automatic assault rifles, and squad automatic weapons. Those with rifles are issued 10 hi-capicity madazines, and 1000 rounds of ammunition. They MUST qualify with those once a year, or they are recalled back to active service for more training. Switzerland also has more shooting ranges, per capita, than any country on earth. Low crime rate. No wars. Hard to argue with success isn't it?

Proposing that civilians stand guard on the border is ridiculous. Trouble will break out if you put a bunch of armed bubbas on the border. Then Americans go to jail for shooting illegals.
