When it comes to fears about a terrorist attack, people in the United States usually focus on Osama bin Laden and foreign-based radical groups. Yet researchers say domestic extremists who commit violence in the name of their cause - abortion or the environment, for example - account for most of the damage from such incidents in this country.

These home-grown groups are seven times more likely than overseas groups to commit some kind of violence in the United States, a panel reported yesterday in Boston at the annual meeting of the American Association for the Advancement of Science.

In many ways, actions by these domestic extremists can be termed "terrorist" cases, the researchers indicated. "The typical 'terrorist' is an alienated guy, usually a young male," said Brian Forst of American University in Washington.

"They take comfort in like-minded souls and develop an idea they think will make a splash," he said. They do not always carry it out, but sometimes they do, he said. "They are not lunatics."

I keep saying that to all the cowards in this country.

The truth is your more likely to win the lottery or be run down by a semi in your own yard than you are to ever encounter a foreign terrorist act in the US . Always have been and always will be that way.

Yet these cowards , let Bush, Co. talk them into spending 2 trillion and trying to steal our liberties because of a boogey man myth of terror they invented.

Its crazy.

And I understood all the cowards voting for Bush in 2000 . But by 2004 they had no excuse the man lied and they know it . So by 2004 I became really disappointed in my fellow citizens.

How dumb are people really? Apparently a lot dumber and a lot more cowardly than I thought.

The homegrown terror act is nothing but a consolidation of power and a limit on free speech. If you dissent, you can be held without a phone call, without being charged, indefinately or for life. They can now legally make you dissappear, if they don't like what you say. Who among us believes they won't do it just to save face? Who among us wants to put their fate in the hands of overzealous federal agents? They are not reasonable.

If you are afraid, Conservatives are happy

Yeah, they chase bin Laden all over the world (really hoping not to find him) while rightwing paramilitary Tim McVeigh types are stockpiling weapons and explosives all over the country.

There is no real money in fighting homegrown terrorists.

The real money is in wars like Iraq where the Carlyle's of the world can make billions on weapons and sub standard services to our troops.

Don't shower with KBR water.
