What about the killing of innocent people who had nothing to do with the slave trade? England got rid of slavery without a war, without blood shed. I beleive you will find that Brazil did the same.

There are many who believe that abortion is wrong, that it is the taking of innocent life and is at least the equal of slavery in its moral debasement. Keep in mind that like abortion, slavery was completely legal and protected by the Constitution at the time of Brown. However, there are very few, except for a few radicals that would ever condone the taken of the life of an abortionist or bombing an abortion clinic in order to end abortion. That is my argument, that the end does not justify the means. Browns actions are no different than Eric Rudolphs bombing of the abortion clinic and neither should be considered heroic.
