Default CWS update

Rice has gotten 33 hits in the last two games and destroyed the Tarheels today (sorry GF). I think Rice has their second CWS ring order ready to go folks...

Which was BS. How many pitches can a person walk in to before he gets called on it. If I was the pitch I would have air mailed over some chin music . . .I bet he would have tried to avoid that pitch a little better.

My cable went out and did not get to see the game, just read about it. Been having to follow everything online the past few days. Hmmm, the winning run got walked in?

I'm not saying UCI didn't deserve to win, only that playing like that is less than admirable.

Their MO is to get men on base, steal bases, advance to scoring position and bring guys home. By not calling the batters moving into pitches, the game plays into UCI's hand. Also, the pitcher is limited when he can't pitch inside on a player and brush him off the plate w/o the batter leaning into a pitch. Oh well, we'll see how Oregon St. does against em'.

I see a lot of guys hugging the plate in college, they play samll ball there. This is used because the pitching is just not as strong. ALL good pitchers go to the majors ASAP...pitching wins games in the bigs and no one hugs the plate there like Pete Rose or Larry Bowa used to, just does not happen because of what you are saying.

Your boys (and my dad's!) did a hell of a good job! I think after the last two games they might have a chance of winning the CWS. They are back at level ground and have Oregon St at 2 of 3 in the last round (again!). The last time this happened (two repeating to challenge for the title) was:

1972 USC 1-0 Arizona St.
1973 USC 4-3 Arizona St.

Good luck, I hope you have a chance to watch the games! (I know my Dad the Tarheel will!)

I stopped watching as any real Horn would. Now one of your other favorite teams can win.
