Chris Carpenter pitched a great game tonight once he settled down past the 1st inning. 6th inning for the Cards was fantastic! The squeeze call by LaRussa was really brilliant and showed SD who was in control (Carpnter even hit a run in); his calling in relief at the right time in the 8th to shut SD down was timed just perfect. LaRussa has always been one of my very favorite managers...no flash, serious baseball only!

I hope they can get hot against the Mets; big time knock on wood for that series...LaRussa is going to be matching wits with a very good baseball mind in Willie Randolph. Both are very good.

What do you guys think about the Cards/Mets series?

I am trying not to get any false hopes up here...I would love to see my guys move to the WS and finally do it but...a third year, this is really difficult to watch.

I can't see the A's getting past the Tigers.

I'm going to have to go with Mets, for some reason if the Mets aren't playing a Texas team or the Twins, I go for the Mets.
